yeah, one of the reasons why i said that I would probably still turn up to my job even if I 'won the lottery' would be the social catalyst of being around a group of people that I wouldn't normally choose to be my friends. It's not that they are a bad lot lol, but there are different personalities here with different backgrounds, and we wouldn't necessarily choose to 'hang out'. But the social catalyst of dealing with others that aren't totally like yourself is both invigorating and unpredicable. It makes life more interesting in other words

I'd also bring in two Ra quotes to say that having things too 'easy' (lets say financially) can be potentially troublesome:
Ra was originally talking the pre-Veil condition of entities having all their needs taken care of, and never having to concern oneself, because even if one died, there was firm knowledge that one would return straight back to the Creator, and could get another body. There was little motivation to actually try.
Don made this analogy, and Ra concurred:
Quote:82.23 Questioner: It seems that you might make an analogy in our present illusion of those who are born into extreme wealth and security. Is this correct?
Ra: I am Ra. Within the strict bounds of the simile, you are perceptive.
this next quote is a bit more subtle, but quite revelatory imo.
Here's the quote:
The nature of polarity is interesting in that those experiences offered to the Significator as positive frequently become recorded as productive of biases which may be seen to be negative, whereas the fruit of those experiences apparently negative is frequently found to be helpful in the development of the service-to-others bias.
the underlined part is basically - give someone positive experiences, and they end up being complacent, taking things for granted, gaining an attitude of superiority.
it's a bit of a shock to read - and is very 'spiritually incorrect'

so if we don't have some sort of financial motivation to actuallty participate in the social structure in some way, many many people would just end up at home all day, playing x-box, and smoking weed (very crude, male juvenile stereotype, I know
