If you ask me, this discussion shows pretty clearly how complicated sexual nature is. That's one of the reason I don't think just avoiding it will help. I think there are some unresolved group complexes surrounding sexuality and so these discussions are occuring to help balance that.
I understand both sides pretty well. I was taught by my Mom that sexuality is sacred and something to only be shared in trust. However, once that trust is established then discussion is fair game because everyone is on the same page.
Also, while I acknowledge and respect that one might feel their sexuality is very private, I think that's pretty common, I think it's an unfair suggestion to make that that is the only valuable approach or form of sexuality.
