I believe in the practice of mindfulness as a way towards acceptance. If we are not mindful or aware of our actions then it probably won't be possible to accept them. Through being aware of our own thoughts and neurotic patterns we have the ability to watch them without judgement and to cultivate positive thought patterns that are of benefit to other selves. Perhaps an action from my own experience would be dealing with others through a compassionate view, rather than seeing them as separate and different , it is possible through mindfulness to cultivate the view that we are all human beings able to experience suffering and happiness, in this sense we are all the same. From this view , it is not an assumption but a direct practical experience that transforms our neurotic patterns with the understanding we are responsible for our own sense of happiness which is experienced by helping other selves.
