don't use blender. theres no animation company that uses that. use maya.. maya... maya... or 3ds max..
If you never heard of Gnomon Workshop, you may want to check out their stuff, they have everything from beginning to advanced tutorials using ZBrush. i have a bachelors of science in video game art and design. i graduated like 4-5 years ago.

I'm not a student so I couldn't do the educational version. But they do have Maya LT version that is cheaper than regular Maya.
