I've been really focusing on balancing every negative emotion or thought I have and I think this is showing me that I'm being shown my weaknesses so that I can exist in the same space as them. It feels like the re-integration process is nearly complete.

I'd be keen to get others' input too so I can expand my understanding...

The spider that she finds sounds like a play on the beauty of a spider being found for her because of you.  Spiders are interesting symbols, they scare people but denote divine beauty and structure in that they weave such perfect spiral webs or denote fear of those same things.  At least when its a single spider and not a whole dream of them being EVERYWHERE.

I do think this can apply if you felt it influenced your dream.
It sounds like the monsters of your past are coming into your 'conscious space'. You seem to have the right idea of what to do based on the above that I quoted

For all you know, the monster beyond that got in thought YOU were the monster and upon finding you weren't, like you, was put back with surprise as if to say, "Well then what now?"
