Maybe you are too busy listening with your own ego rather than listening to Music?

yes, thats entirely possible, i have plenty of that!

Its just not my taste at all!
i mean, he's a brilliant bass player, no doubt, very skillfull, brilliant technique.
But still, i dont like that style at all.

Actually, i know most of his work.
I remember being on tour and the bass player (who was a huge fan) forced us to listen to it again and again :/

And, dont get me wrong, nothing against a nice solo here or there and in the appropriate style of music.
I just had more than my fair share of sophisticated bass players that tried to show their skill the whole evening, instead of supporting the song. Maybe you know what i mean.
Probably its because of that i dont like it.
I played a lot in jazz and fusion bands when i was younger and was practicing a lot.
Throughout the years i just came to like music more and more that has a more songoriented style.

Personal taste i guess.

But if you guys all recommend the book, i will give it a try.
Would be a little stupid to not even try it just because im prejudiced i admit
