I do not think their form is lesser. I do my best to let bugs be and bring them outside the house one by one if I spot them. I have an issue with mosquitoes specifically. I believe the catalyst is about something other than letting insects live. Something regarding prevention of needless sufferings for the whole of the Creator. This really is a big theme for me in this incarnation.
