Who is to say we will each experience the same event? There is an underlying assumption here that the universe is a shared objective experience.

Remember two things...

1) There is no objective 3rd density universe. Experience is subjective to each of us.
2) Your intention is of great import

There are an infinite number/variety of Universes. If you genuinely expect excitement and quick transition, in my humble opinion, that is what you will experience. If you expect a longer, 'harder to detect' transition, you will experience that. It's your beliefs that create your circumstances.

When the time comes, each of us will be 'right', as the universe will reflect the intention/beliefs back to us, making each of us unaware of other's subjective choices and experiences.

As others have said, try to remain in the now, in a place of love, and the best possible outcome will manifest :¬)
