Wikipedia is spectacularly accurate and reliable. We are not in 2005. Today an ordinary wikipedia article has as much references as an average master's thesis. So much that using wikipedia is banned in many education institutions, not because it is unreliable, but students just copy/paste and cheat to pass even higher education exams and homeworks.
However, wikipedia reflects the best state of our knowledge as it exists today. It naturally reflects our biases too. So it also reflects the conservatism of the scientific establishment regarding new ideas.
