I don't think you're wrong, I think date specific prophecies are injected into the community because if any one person believes in the date as true facts and is disheartened by its failure to come to pass and leaves a path of service to others, then it's a tiny victory for the other side. Anything that's framed as "finally we get to escape this dimension" tells me it's not a clear channel. When a source starts preying on the dysphoria and discomfort of wandering souls by saying, we're going to ascend and get away from where it's hard and all these lower vibrational people are, my eyebrows start going up. We are here to help. I'm pretty sure I'm going to die an ignominious 3D death, not ascend into a light body and suddenly become a super saiyan.

So yes, energy draining indeed. But some people are into it and as you said, it can help with the dysphoria, as long as one never gets too invested in any date specific promises. That's the kind of carrot dangle which comes along with cults and expensive courses where you can learn the one true way via "an energy exchange" ei "money".

But I do think there's value in keeping an eye on what other aspects of the channelling community are up to, though if it's knocking the life out of you, I think you should simply pass these kinds of messages by. Clearly they don't resonate with you anymore, for good reason with your history. But I think the warning that comes with that history is worth stating: this is a hook that's been used for decades now but still there is no apocalypse ascension planet warping madness, just the regular type. So it has been and so I suppose it always will be.
