Perhaps. But why not forge our own paths? Why not seek our own answers? Because Ra says a thing, is not a reason for me to do it. I do the thing because I have reached a point where I have come to understand that thing; I don't do the thing because I believe in someone else's understanding, so I follow their lead. Howevrer, I know a lot of people feel differently about living masters and the like—which is fine.

I agree, I think it's important to check things for oneself. I think everyone can take the first steps towards seeing that there might be something behind this idea of misidentifying with the mind. If one sits down and meditates, and manages to watch their thoughts from afar, without making them the core of their identity, even on a bad day one can feel... okay. Which is so counter-intuitive, and raises questions with such huge implications, such as: "Who is this I who is perfectly alright when the mind is not here?".
