    To 'realize' or to 'become aware' or to 'get enlightened' or whatever you call that, you have to learn. Without learning, you dont make any kind of progress.

    There is no magic 'happening' which magically bestows someone with insight and awareness.

    Even the person who seems to be at peace without having done much learning, may have lived many lives and had done a lot of learning, ending up with the mind/body/spirit balance s/he has today.

    Or, s/he may be just a fresh 3d entity, not even aware what's happening around him or her much.

    ...

    One thing is unmistakable though - understanding comes through one walking his/her own spiritual path - not by reading various teachings and just trying to imitate them. Everything learned must be put into practice.
