I have viewed Karma very simply after reading the Law of One. There is no such thing as good or bad Karma, there is only Karma, and it does come back to you, or rather, weighs you down. You accumulate Karma when you violate the free will of other-selves. This could be as harsh as enslaving or killing someone, a clear violation of their will, or as benign as hurting someones feelings (they did not want their feelings hurt). The turning wheel of action known as Karma can be broken through forgiveness of the self and other-selves, though one must be able to consciously recognize that they made such a violation. Just my thoughts.
