If it's like comparing the 7 chakras system with the 12 chakras system. The 12 just goes into more details. Like the Heart chakra being divided between the inner and outer heart. Maybe it is the same here, the 9 dimensions just having included some remarkable sub divisions of the basic underlying 7 densities.
