Anyone with an idea as to what significance supernovae have in terms of them being sub-Logoi?

Depending on their current cycle and matter type, part of their remnants can be planets which may be suitable for some form of sub-sub-logoi to evolve. Presumably, their function as logos is most important as a component of a planetary system.

Do you think that this could be the proces of a latent star (sub-logos) 'throwing out' the material which may then form into planets and such?

In Larson's Reciprocal System, the local material is slowly aggregated until a red giant is initially formed. Note that this is backwards from conventional astronomy.
This initial star has no planets.

It then continues aggregation and must reach an age or temperature limit in order to explode. This explosion typically results in either a binary star system or a planetary system.
