the idea of mind being the creator and the body being creation is interesting to me. where does spirit fit into all that? would it be both?

in hermeticism, it is said that "the All is Mind", and that the universe is a mental creation

hahaha, I am reminded of my difficulty in viewing "sexuality" from a higher perspective, and I can see now that the concept of "mind" is another thing I having difficulty grasp.

Yes! Everything you look at is mental this is the illusion. It is not material or solid but we must work with the Laws of this Logos. Which is to work with the illusion to master the Game. There is a special portion of our current mind that says, "this is Real!" Work with that as you cannot put your hand through a wall, can you? Not without breaking your hand...lol!

Ra states that you are the Creator. Well, because you are an expression of This Universal All-Seeing Mind, some call it God. If we could always remember this, the Choice becomes easy because you are here to live, experience, and find yourself, your true self; then align with that. Each choice you make assists you in getter closer to knowing who and what you truly are.
Pay close attention to each choice that seems to have some sort of significant importance or an emotional charge to it because these experiences always contain information for us to discern.
Each trial and tribulation contains information about the Truth of who you really are. This is NOT an easy journey for a 3rd density human to be fully awakened (and perhaps we will not be fully this is not the goal) but, if this is what you are seeking to do, now is the time.
***the spirit is in 6th density*** bring that portion into closer contact with your personality now, the human personality. That's all I will say about that you can figure the rest out.
