Yes I see no way of getting around this.  We walk the steps of light right after we die.  Die we must.  But since death is just waking up to a bigger realer reality, I guess we could equate that to the concept of ascending as experienced by the entity itself.

It's one of the reasons I am not too sad when seeing someone die.  They are basically just leaving their cloths here (body).  But yeah, for those left here, we lose contact for a while...
