Is there an easy way to tell at first glance if a planet is habitable enough for me to gather resources, without scanning? Also, do you know of any guide online that will tell me specifically what the add-ons for my ship can do?
I love space exploration games. I've always dreamed of being a space explorer. I hope I will get to live this dream in a future incarnation.
If I don't get any work done this month, I'm blaming you Unity
dont use tips or cheats or guides available on the internet for this game. they will spoil A LOT of the game.
get a pen and paper and write out what you explore. this was the way most of us did it back in 1990s. we kept those papers for a long time.
in addition, what info you need, is always provided in game, if you talk to aliens.
the particular info you are asking, ie which planets are best for resources etc, can be learned by talking to starbase commander and asking questions.
actually you do have to ask questions to commander, and make him tell you about ancient history, current events, alien races etc etc - all that he knows, so that you can unlock various important dialog options when you encounter other situations in the galaxy.
this game is not forgiving. make a false move while talking to aliens or performing a task (outside resource gathering) and you may not be able to succeed to the ending.
