I rarely have dreams this frequently, or with so much detail. Of course, due to night terrors I've suppressed my memory of them for a long time, which suits me just well. Interesting to note that in Seth Speaks it is discussed how we are active with our higher selves during the dream state, doing various chores throughout existence and that the REM sleep where our physical dreams happen are only the final reintegrating points of our consciousness returning to our physical senses, which is why it often seems so jumbled. Of course, to me, I feel like dreaming never stops, when we shut down our physical senses we are simply turning our consciousness towards other facets of experience, tuning in to a different dream if you will. In my Gnostic learnings its taught that we travel fluently through the astral realm in our sleep and that by learning to lucid dream and do dream yoga we are simultaneously learning about the after-death conditions and how to manipulate them.
Interestingly this also applies to the whole subject of the Egyptian Book of the Dead and such dead practices. By developing a blueprint for the after-death experience they ease their transition through the dissolution of their ego and return to a natural energy state, which can be practiced in the dream world, which is supposedly the same.
