...with regard to the violet ray, I just remembered something from Ra which might indicate that 4D can't yet see violet ray...

I just ran the query "violet ray" in lawofone.info, in order to find some backing from the material. I found this -

So, in essence, according to the words of Ra, it is not possible for any entity lower than 5D to read the violet ray configuration of another entity. Your supposition is very much correct, I guess.
