Good Greetings All:
I was very very slow when I was in the last part of my second trimester through until the day before I birthed my children. It is a natural body response to the immense intelligence it takes to create a life in the womb as well for the body to take care of itself so that it is in good reasonable condition after birthing the baby.
Being tired and sleeping a lot and being in a sort of baby on board induced altered state is a natural part of pregnancy for many many women. It was for me.. A sense of dreaming life into beingness.
If the woman that is pregnant is eating correctly and getting enough nutriments then there is no need to be concerned.
When I was also pregnant I completely eshewed all forms of animal protiens... even eggs made me barf just smelling them cooking... forget about eating them! The same for cooking chicken, fish, beef, and wild game... BARF! Bleck! I feel queasy just thinking about it...lol and this is 2.5 years later---- I could not get enough Tofu, blueberries, soy milk, almonds, and fruit of all kinds... I just loved them all.. I lived on this tofu, blueberry, apple, pear almond milk and soymilk smoothie with ice. Yum! It was good! I craved blueberries and watermellon, and mellons of all kinds as well as tofu and rice and good organic tamari soy sauce and Maine harvested seaweeds.
And yes, I was slooooow... and I was pregnant with twins and I was healthy and I had healthy babies. I was also very slow with my first pregnancy, a single birth. Especially during the first trimester and latter half of the 2nd through the 3rd trimester.
I remember a friend of mine feeling frustrated with me because I was too slow... He tried to make me feel bad because I was slooow and moving at my own pace in a peaceful state of being full of happiness with my creations. Nothing wrong with this. What was wrong with the picture was the impatience of this friend who I dropped as a friend because they could not handle my body slowness but my quick energy frequency.
Here is a book on pregnancy and birth that my hubby and I found to be very helpful. It is written by a wife and husband. Birthing from Within: An Extra-Ordinary Guide to Childbirth Preparation, Pam England and Rob Herowitz.
