The Concept of Ego: How to change peacefully?

My work with the ego was the attempt to find what it was. As I was searching for its manifestation I became aware of addictions that were "not me". Each habit or addiction I became aware of was a program that suddenly vanished. In the end my attempts to figure out the ego resulted in my view that it is simply a program, artificial intelligence, created for the use of propelling us through the physical into facing the experience of the soul quota.
