One of the problems is the parent / child relationship as its perceived by...the parent. No matter how old you get, how independant, how far away you move, how different you think...no matter what you do...
In the eyes of you your parent(s)..you are still somewhere between 5 and 10 yrs old. And therefore should be subject to do their bidding.
Familial dynamics change as you grow older. Its as much a "growing experience" for them as well as yourself. But it sure can be a stormy trip.
