Greetings, Brother Cyan, I hope you are well today.
First of all, I'd like to tell you that I admire your willingness to share your bounty with others and make such an extraordinary offer to your family at Bring4th. This idea may or may not actually manifest -- I honestly do not know if this is wise. It may or may not be right for you and others, but regardless of the outcome I appreciate your trust and openness. To offer such accommodation to us while asking for nothing more than labor for upkeep and companionship in return is a truly kind and loving gesture. So, I'd like to honor you for that first and foremost.
Now, I'd also like to comment further on a few things I think I picked up from your post. I hope my comments have some relevancy for you, but I sincerely apologize to you in advance if I have misunderstood your words. At least for now, I'm "only a 3D human" and may not have fully grasped your thoughts and the energy behind them.
I absolutely understand the desire to live in a forested, rural area with self-generating electricity, heat, and trees. I also understand the desire to not live alone, or only with your significant other. To be perfeectly honest with you, I have an extremely strong desire to live in a small rural commune with a few other singles, couples, or families that follow the precepts of the Law of One. A small group of people that will share communal labor and yet give absolute freedom to eachother and completely respect everyone's individual free will. If we could ever find such a place and it would be somehow possible financially, my wife & I would move there in a heartbeat, and with joy.
This desire, though, is basically rooted in two areas. 1) The deire to live closer to nature in a a sustainable and spiritual way. And 2) the desire to share the burdens and the joys of human life with other like-minded souls who have the same basic positive orientation. People who you can trust... people like us, who will act with a high degree of morality in any given situation and treat others with kindness and respect simply because they/we can be no other way. No cults, of personality or religion, just honest, reasonable, and loving people with a quiet spirituality and love for Gaia and other beings.
I apologize for the length of this, but I am telling you all of this so you can understand where I am coming from. I believe it is a place of Love.
Is this the same reason that you are considering such a place, too? Do you long for these things? Or is your desire instead rooted in fear? Fear of the collapse of civilization, perhaps, or fear of economic doom? Which vibration is your desire rooted in -- Love or Fear?
I ask you this question not to judge you in any way, but only to help you clarify in your own mind what it is that you really want...and why. Are you running towards something Lovely? Or are you running away from something Fearful? You mentioned the world destabilizing and finances going downhill, and that is what made me ask these questions. In my own experience, plans and desires rooted in fear often manifest negative outcomes whereas plans and desires rooted in Love can truly result in miracles. I feel it is valuable to understand where your true desires really lay.
You also mentioned a potential move instead to the US for a long-term stay. This is quite a difference from your ashram idea, and makes me wonder again what you are really longing for. Is it that you sense a need for a radical change of scenery? A new life circumstance -- in the forest of your land of birth or in a 'foreign' land across the sea? If so, there is nothing wrong with this at all. Though I firmly believe that this whole earth is our home and we all have a right to wander to and settle in any corner of beautiful Gaia we see fit, I have found in my own travels that my state of Being matters far, far more than my physical circumstances. I have traveled extensively in my lifetime and yet I never really left home. I've discovered over time that it simply does not matter where we are physically. We will carry our loves, our desires, and our problems with us wherever we go.
That said, one's physical situation is indeed a very significant factor in this incarnation. We would be foolish to deny this very real facet of reality, in my estimation. Living in another environment can really give us a sense of perspective and sometimes is just waht we need. So perhaps moving would make sense for you, if only temporarily. It truly does not matter if you stay where you are, move to the US, or open your retreat for Bring4th. My personal opinion is that your quality of life will be far more affected by the state of your Consciousnes -- by your mind and heart -- than any physical factor.
This brings me to something my intuition has been begging me to share with you since I read your post yesterday. I don't know why, but I really feel strongly to ask you if you have ever visited Iceland? If you have not, I strongly recommend that you visit there before making your decision. If your financial situation is good enough to contemplate such a purchase, and since you are already in N. Europe, I suspect it would be extremely easy for you to pop over for a visit. As I mentioned earlier, I have visited many, many countries, but never a place like Iceland. The nice, temperate climate, the loving Ocean surrounding the isle, the extremely high quality of life, the organic food, the incredibly pure water, the environmentally-friendly power generation, the fantastically beautiful landscapes, and the genral human decency of the Icelandic people made my heart absolutely soar. Iceland is an amazing place of peace and joy!!! We had been planning for almost a decade to retire in Ecuador (a wonderful place!), but we knew in our all too brief time there that we could live in Iceland and be happy for the rest of our lives. I've only discarded it as a possibility because of money and the difficulty for non EU citizens to migrate. Ironically enough, starting a spiritual retreat/ashram there has been a major fantasy of mine for a long time. Never have I experienced such a lack of pollution, such incredibly sustaining and wholesome food and water, and PEACE. It is a peaceful land filled with peaceful people. The population is so very small there is space, there is beauty, there is RESPECT for one another. Like any other place on earth, it has it's issues and problems but as a very seasoned traveler and great appreciator of mother Gaia, I say with absolute conviction, that Iceland is a VERY special place. Within minutes of touching its gorgeous soil, an intense clarity of mind and peace came over me that is indescribable. I wonder if perhaps it would be a good place for you to do some soul-searching and thinking?
I don't know why I feel compelled to mention this to you, but my intuition is insisting. Perhaps you've already been to Iceland and this is all moot. But if your financial situation and geographical location are that good, then even a short trip over there would be perfectly feasible for you. Even if you only stay a short time, perhaps a brief vacation, the clear air and wholesome food and lack of crime and angst and crushing emotions from masses of people might just give you the clarity you need to determine what you really want to do long-term.
Of course, I still maintain that you have no need to go anywhere in order to find peace, guidance, or anything else you are seeking. There's no need to open your retreat or move to the US or anywhere else, but of course you could do either of these things and a million more possibilities. This incarnation is yours to modify as you see fit. We are all things and our Consciousness is the only thing that is real. Space, like time, is really just an illusion. You can take the Jouney of a thousand miles without ever leaving your meditation blanket!
Well, Cyan, I hope these words made some sense to you. I hope that I did not presume too much with you and make bad assumptions. My sincere wish if for you to make a decision that feels right to you, in your own time, and in such a way that will achieve the best and highest good for everyone involved. Whatever you choose - may your heart be lightened and your mind be at ease! No matter what you do or where you go, I am confident you will make the right decision.
Namaste, Brother. Thanks again for your love and generosity to this community. It is your kind and loving intentions that matter far more than your actions or results.
Love to all
