I also had some personal observations of the Crown Chakra -
* the 'thousand petals' seem to be a thousand separate points of connection to the Cosmos/intelligent infinity.
* the 'bandwidth' through the crown chakra is much much greater than anything I have experienced through the pineal
* as Ra says, the violet ray is the sum of all that goes before, and any inbalance in a lower chakra reduces the balance/power of the crown. I can actually feel this loss of power

I know abstrktion had an experience with a Crown Chakra opening just recently. I think Gemini Wolf had one too.
