back when I was in university, I thought that the mind was poorly understood ... that it was not systematically approached and categorised.
and your image is apt:
Ra says we should balance all emotions, eg, patience/impatience.
The two that stand out are love and joy.
love is balanced by light?
joy is balanced by unity?

these two seem to have a standing of their own.
I kind of see Joy as being created by Unity. I can see Love (spiritual outpouring) balanced by Light (do you mean Light as in the limitation on love imposed by wisdom?)
I thought the website was most useful for listing emotions I hadn't thought of.
Would Love and Hate then be the same because both are outward moving? Then would Acceptance/Apathy be their complements?
I see Joy and Despair having the same "tone" -- recent experiences with despair led back in a circle to Joy as I could see that what was causing despair was linked to the dark night of the soul and thus led straight on to Joy and Love.
Maybe one could even look at the emotions as rings...with two sides...kind of like a ribbon that winds back upon itself with a twist so that it looks like the symbol of infinity....hmmm...
Whew...fun! Now if we look at the archetypes, in many there is both a positive and negative possibility in each...just like in the emotions...and the Sephirah each have a qlippoth (sp?)...
Any more thoughts?
