People subconsciously notice patterns like that and then it pulls their attention, so that you may notice more coincidences than there actually is. And the more aware of it, the more likely it will capture your attention.

Science and psychology aside, I love coincidences/synchronicities. While they are not as wonderful as perfectly planned life lessons, they are amusing nevertheless. =)
