In terms of modern Indians and India, there is no single language for all of India. In many ways, present day India came into effect due to the unifying influence of the British, in my opinion. However, Indian history is extremely complex and given to multiple controversies and deep abiding hatreds.
In many ways, the current political unit of India is akin to the EU, though the EU is not a single nation per se. That said, I still love my nation, India, despite its multiple grievous flaws and ills
