Homecoming 2012 Update Thread

Thanks to the thread here and the posts I know I am a part of the circle and the gathering. It is wonderful for me to reconnect with L/L gathering.

For me the day started with messages from friends in Sweden about a forest on Gotland Island called Ojnare needing help to be saved from a mining company. They started clear-cutting trees three days ago. Protesters are hiding among the trees to stop the clear cut of the ancient woodland. They managed to slow down, but not stop the tree-cuttings. I spent half of the day writing letters and networking for Onjare Forest in Gotland. Getting the word out and rallying help to stop this very sensitive ecology from getting wiped out. I then organised a Forest Garden Day here in my community , the aim being creating a network of interconnected gardens to meet our entire food needs from within our locality. Next I will work on a website to host SEEDFreedom Fortnightly Campaign, promoted by International Permaculture Day, that Vandana Shiva started from 2-16 October for the Farsi readers to help us gain our food security through use and share of Open Pollinated Seeds. I think the Great Spirit had plans for me. I accept that I need to be here, and connected with you. What a great Gift My spirit is Soaring in the sky over Louisville.
