Well, it starts solid and then is heated to the right temperature so sort of?

I will be using mostly the ABS-R filament to begin with as it is the engineering grade and thus seems the most sturdy for extended use, as the things I intend to create will be. I may purchase and experiment with other filaments as I go along though, obviously I have a lot to learn.
