She is veiled and between two pillars which seem to be identically covered with drawings but one much darker than the other. I am assuming that the veil represents the veil between the conscious and subconscious or Matrix and Potentiator. Is this correct?

Ra: I am Ra. This is quite correct.

The priestess is the subconscious mind. The veil shields the subconscious mind and its vast resources from us. There is also a veil between the matrix/potentiator of the body - before the veil, we could control our heartbeats, temperature, etc. So it really shields us from our "true selves", the innate abilities we have as creators. It's other purpose is to facilitate the ability to choose separation over unity.

is it a piece of metaphysical material that drapes over your consciousness? is it simply a block to the key piece of spiritual information, that all is One?

it seems blindingly obvious to me, right now, that all is One, that all is Well. yet I am also, right now, in a depressive despair that drives me to seek externally for relief - i'm fighting the urge to get drunk, in other words.

what is the veil? why can i intellectually accept Unity and remain so distant, in my heart? is it really just difference between knowing and Knowing?

In my opinion the veil is represented by the hemispheres of the brain. The difference is that Love and light are then read on different hemispheres. So I am saying that one side of the brain interprets data through/as vibration. The other hemisphere will interpret things through light. This main separation of data coming in and being interpreted, leads to all the symptoms of the veil. One of the more physical symptoms is handiness. The synapse of the brain is more comparable to communication of the spheres.

Think of sun and its light. We normaly don't see them as separated. It's obvious to everyone that all sunlight comes from the sun. That would be the condition before veil.

After veil picture a big cloud between sun and our eyes. We see some sunlight but there seems to be no sun. Only faith in sun is possible.

The veil is separation between conscious and unconscious mind. Conscious mind now separated doesn't by itself see the conection of everything with the Creator and all separation only as illusory. Nothing that transcends separation seems to exist.

Faith makes a bridge between conscious and unconscious mind (transformation of mind). There are two ways as we know it from tarot. Faith can also be misused for separation - gaining power over others, enslaving the non-elite.
