I used to game much more when younger. It doesn't seem as fulfilling anymore.

but then again, I used to a lot more things in general. My habits have become quite narrow in the pursuit of oneness.

that said, I still keep up with news and podcasts on gaming; more like an observer watching social movements unfold.

my general feeling on game design is that it creates artificial frustrations and challenges; then you master a particular move or pattern, and you progress to the next stage.

I'd like to add that I have been developing a game based on the Law of One and my understanding of it on and off for almost ten years now. It is textbased since I would never have had time to create a graphical game on my own. At least not a game like this.

The game itself is based on the old multiuser dungeon games of the 80s and 90s that I played as a kid, but it has been adapted to the massive multiplayer online games of today (like world of warcraft). It has been through several revisions, which is why it is not finished yet.

I plan to release the game for free, whenever it's ready. I know the playerbase won't be large, but I do know a few communities that are interested, which means it might help a small sum of people at least. But even if it only helps one person, it is worth it.

Anyway. Seemed relevant to the topic.

    In love and light,
    Anthony

a great example of a non-violent computer game.

    it's all about the 'experience'

    BigSmile

and I guess it has a tie-in with the 'Law of One'; you just happen to be the only survivor on this island. There is only one of us here lol.

So what does "distraction and sleep" have to do with the Law of One?

I dunno zen; that was a bit of a throwaway comment on my part Smile

but distraction and sleep, distraction and sleep, we all do it, don't we?

I wonder if the insidiousness of television and computer games lies not in the actual act itself, but because it prevents us from interacting with other-selves, which is the primary catalyst of 3rd density.

so growth in hindered, progress is hindered, and everything becomes retarded (in the original sense of the word, non-derogatory).

like I've said; I have had a mixed relationship with games. Played a lot in my teens, withdrew from tech entirely for the better part of a decade, and have had a few bouts of gaming since. (its like a bingeing thing, every couple of years for a few weeks)

personally, I've traced it to an orange ray blockage; hence my previous overwhelming obsession with rpg's. (seeking of power, levelling etc). But that's my own relationship.

does the Creator in us seek to create a microcosm of the creation in a computer game? dunno.

time spent around nature gives me much more joy these days Smile

This quote can be applied to video games:

Quote: Questioner: I thought that that was correct, but I wasn’t sure. Can you give me the same type of information that we have been getting here with respect to the unmanifested self interacting between self and gadgets, toys, etc— inventions?

Ra: I am Ra. In this particular instance we again concentrate for the most part in the orange and in the yellow energy centers. In a negative sense many of the gadgets among your peoples, that is what you call your communication devices and other distractions such as the less competitive games, may be seen to have the distortion of keeping the mind/body/spirit complex unactivated so that yellow- and orange-ray activity is much weakened thus carefully decreasing the possibility of eventual green-ray activation.

Others of your gadgets may be seen to be tools whereby the entity explores the capabilities of its physical or mental complexes and in some few cases, the spiritual complex, thus activating the orange ray in what you call your team sports and in other gadgets such as your modes of transport. These may be seen to be ways of investigating the feelings of power; more especially, power over others or a group power over another group of other-selves.

IMO, online/multiplayer games can have a positive effect on spiritual development via the social interaction. There are opportunities for green and blue ray activation.

And some games make you think about spiritual principles. Catalyst!
