Ha, that is why you are always giggling and smirking, like a contented Zen meditative adept on top of the misty mountains! Smile

On a more serious note, Ruth, I think it has got to do with the polarized basis of our octave of creation. The basis of our current illusion is polarity. In other words, everything has been designed in such a way to accentuate the illusory miasma of separation (or individuality, if you will), in order to accelerate, intensify and magnify the act of individual and collective evolution. To strengthen the coordinates of separation, it becomes necessary to veil (or deny) the identical other-self nature of everything around us, for otherwise the very act of moment to moment living will come undone.

It is as if the One Infinite Creator wants us to be busy so that we can realize that we need not be busy in order to be cozy. What was the One Infinite Creator smoking?! Tongue

I think desire can have a spiritual basis. If there is something we really desire, there could be a spiritual reason behind it. For instance, my fascination with anthros (particularly anthro wolves). I feel a connection with them. And it is something I desire greatly. Sometimes I obscess about it. At times anthros are all I really think about.

But that's how Law of Attraction is supposed to work. You focus on what you desire. And then, you let it go.

I get excited when talking about it, because I thinik if it really works, and if anything is possible, then I can attract my greatest dream.

I don't know how long it will take. But I'm ok even if it's after I've died. I'm willing to spend my whole life seeking if that's what it takes.

But I don't go about it with that mindset. I'm going to probably start scrapbooking or something to help me visualize more strongly my desire. And I am passionate about my desire. Probably moreso than most people who aren't even sure what they want.

But that state of no desire was an interesting experience to have because I didn't have to worry about whether or not I will achive my dream. I trust the Universe, and that my dreams are out there, and that I am worthy enough to receive them. The guy said it's the law, just as if you throw a baseball in the air, it will fall down.

Though honestly I sometimes think the phrase "be careful what you wish for. You just might get it." is overrrated. I'd love for the Universe to prove me wrong there.

I mean what could explain such a deep, profound fascination?

GW, thanks for a very interesting post. Often, in spiritual circles, desires seem to have a very bad press. However, I think desire is at the core of all of infinite creation itself. What is infinite creation but the desire of the infinite mind to know and experience itself?

Desires can either edify and build one, or get into a self-destructive mechanism. As with most things, the power of desire is neutral. However, its effects upon individuals depend on the content, purpose and purity of the focus of the desires, I think.

I agree. Desire helps us to experience the world.
A state of no desire helps one to transcend it.
But I'm looking more to experience than to transcend.

Desires are driving forces that comes in through red ray, through the root chakra. They generate experience. Which experience is up to us, depending on which of our energy center will be used to process it.

Folks, I think it would be wonderful if we can all participate in a word of prayer for the wonderful individual, Malala Yousufzai, a Pakistani 14-year-old girl, who was shot for her courageous human rights campaign in her country.

New reports say that Malala was just 11 years old when she began her brave human rights struggle in a very hostile and difficult environment. She has galvanized an entire nation now and her compatriots and people from many parts of the world are unified in praying for her quick recovery. I drop in my portion in that vast ocean of well-wishes as well.

The following is a 2011 CNN news article on Malala, for reference of her main human rights efforts.

Thanks for including the searching link, βαθμιαίος. It is always helpful to search LOO info, but I seldom think to go do it.

Interesting that the very first Q/A that pops up summarizes what I understand Gemini Wolf & Confused to have been saying about desire:

73.11 Questioner: Desire and will are the factors in this process. Is this correct?

Ra: I am Ra. We would add one quality. In the magical personality desire, will, and polarity are the keys.

I read that as achieving balance - which could be another desire. The desire to achieve balance.

And in reading this exchange it seems that "desire" and "will" might be interchangeable. What do you think?
73.4 Questioner: What I was trying to get at was that this alerting of light strength is, as I see it, a process that must be totally a function of free will, as you say, and as the desire and will and purity of desire of the adept increases, the alerting of light strength increases. Is this part of it the same for both the positive and negative potentials and am I correct with this statement?
Ra: I am Ra. To avoid confusion we shall simply restate for clarity your correct assumption.

Those who are upon the service-to-others path may call upon the light strength in direct proportion to the strength and purity of their will to serve. Those upon the service-to-self path may call upon the dark strength in direct proportion to the strength and purity of their will to serve.

Confused, here I am watching this documentary, mentioning south India, which reminds me of you and the time thread and that I wanted to ask the question about procrastinating (apparently I procrastinated asking this question, duh) Smile
Procrastinating deals with time, putting off stuff you don't wanna deal with.
I am sure I am not the only one.
time is fluid, some say it doesn't even exist. So why do we procrastinate?
is it our way to "playfully" fool around with linearity?

That reminds me, I always wanted to read the novel "Oblomov." It is about a russian dude who spends his time on the couch in his pajamas, thinking about whether to get up. sometimes people ring his doorbell and wanna make him go out with them to do stuff, but he refuses.

    A real pro-procrastinator.
Kinda funny that I procrastinated reading this all those years. Maybe I could still learn something from him Tongue
