RA mentions that each of us have 18-day cycles beginning (almost always) at the time of our birth. Quote:

"64.10 Questioner: In a previous session you mentioned the gateway of magic for the adept occurring in eighteen-day cycles. Could you expand on that information please?

Ra: I am Ra. The mind/body/spirit complex is born under a series of influences, both lunar, planetary, cosmic, and in some cases, karmic. The moment of the birthing into this illusion begins the cycles we have mentioned.

The spiritual or adept’s cycle is an eighteen-day cycle and operates with the qualities of the sine wave. Thus there are a few excellent days on the positive side of the curve, that being the first nine days of the cycle — precisely the fourth, the fifth, and the sixth — when workings are most appropriately undertaken, given that the entity is still without total conscious control of its mind/body/spirit distortion/reality.

The most interesting portion of this information, like that of each cycle, is the noting of the critical point wherein passing from the ninth to the tenth and from the eighteenth to the first days the adept will experience some difficulty especially when there is a transition occurring in another cycle at the same time. At the nadir of each cycle the adept will be at its least powerful but will not be open to difficulties in nearly the degree that it experiences at critical times."

Have any of you figured out your cycle?
What would be the best way to figure this out?

    P.S.

I just found a helpful (and interesting) website that can help to calculate.

I imagine finding out how many days you've lived and dividing it by 18, then finding the decimal and multiplying that by 18 would tell you which day you're on. I'm not a mathematician though so it may be wrong.

Is anyone here good at math?

That's exactly how I did it. BigSmile I'm on the first day of a new cycle... And I've gone through 480 cycles up until this point. And I'm 1234 weeks old. :p

When i tried finding my highest/lowest point in the wave i kept an eye out for dates of being especially high on energy (with 18day periods between one another) where there wasnt any planetary or lunar influences present.
It gave me peak dates 9 days offset prior to the dates "eleve-seventeen" gave me.
Sadly both now seem to be faulty, as i feel as if being high and moving upwards... whilst one shows me being at -100%, the other at -34 going down...

The site i use for checking up on the moon is http://www.astronomy.com/
I've observed the moon to take effect 6% prior to being full/new/half, peak 1% past and fade 13% past.
and the planets http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/Solar to check for aligning ones, the effect is usualy delayed just like with the moon, but tend to last for a week.

also, aaron, i knew someone by your name&age in umeå/nordmaling looking exactly like your pic ~five years ago... the similarities are driving me nuts, just had to mention it.

    Hi Bring4th_Aaron!
A quick question, if you don't mind me asking; are you noticing any particular "difficulties" or catalysts during this time as you pass through day one?

I ask because I'm interested to see how the cycle flows between the zenith and nadir of the wave.
My understanding is that we are at our strongest point of power on the first, ninth, and eighteenth day, and we are open to wanted/unwanted experience on those "power" days.

...looking back now, I see I was passing through my point of power (1st cycle day) on Tue of last week...and actually averted a career crisis.
Definitely tapped into some inner power there!

All is well and I'm secure again, but yeah, that got my attention!

    :exclamation:

This could be a useful way to consciously catalyze and move toward desired goals...

My stats: 8315-8316 days lived, 461 cycles completed, on my 18th day today... so almost 462. I find it interesting that I happened to be coming to completion the day after I read about this.

oh...I'd like to add a quick note about activating/deactivating a per-determined expectation of wanted/unwanted things within the cycle.

I'm not giving the highs/lows/peaks any control over my decisions, or actions, or my expectations.
I'm simply approaching this in terms of balancing my energies towards my own expected result with the least amount of stress and strain on my physical experience and well being.

I do think it's interesting to see how the cycle may influence our abilities to deal with all that we perceive at any given moment.

Weird! I really like the name umeå. Maybe it was my doppelganger? BigSmile

I remember feeling a strong catalyst that was most likely of the mind. It was kind of an existential crisis... feeling like I'm spinning my wheels/trapped and going nowhere or living a pointless life. While that's not true in any sense, I still felt it... a kind of lonliness or isolation. Otherwise, nothing external seemed to occur.

    Thanks!
    That sums it up perfectly!

I'm approaching day 9 tomorrow and I'm aware that I need to balance out exactly the feelings you describe.
Nothing seriously unwanted has manifested in my daily existence...but I feel the tug of my physical being wanting to focus on more of those pesky "negative" or unwanted emotions.
Yes, I'll admit I felt a bit more annoyed that traffic was terrible this morning...and why can't people drive without distraction?!
    (...not kidding)

    Wink

It's interesting that the awareness of the cycle may certainly summon the expectation of catalyst in our illusion...but at the same time, I think it's neutralized because we are prepared to balance the feelings with a more desired state of wellness.

I suppose it also matters just how high the highs are, and how low the lows are. In other words...are the events and circumstances within the cycle extreme enough to elicit any great sense of emotional reaction one way or the other?

I love this topic because I think it's a good exercise to explore both sides of any topic that is meaningful...and then balance it towards our own sense of satisfaction (one-ness?) and learn to make peace with our personal well-being, regardless of where we are in our 18 day cycle.

Using the graph, I was able to compare cycles with my wife and other family members. Interesting how close our cycles are. I think you might "vibe" with people of the same cycle a bit quicker.

    Just a thought.

If I did the math correctly.... (I may be off by a day in all cases.)

    Me:
    480 cycles
    6th day of 481st cycle

    My mate:
    715 cycles
    1st day of 716th cycle

    Her daughter:
    123 cycles
    10th day of 124th cycle

So it seems like we're not harmonized in this regard... unless some mathmetician can glance at these numbers and derive a magical algorithm among us. heheh...

hmmm...as I see many of you happily posting your total cycles, I can't help but to feel very old at 1022 cycles to date.

I will be exactly in the middle of the cycle, 9-10th day on the 21st Dec. Looks like I'm in for a bumpy ride. Bring it on!

When Ra mentions the there will be "some difficulty" between the 18th and 1st days and 9th and 10th days, what type of difficulty are we talking about here?
