title is the question. i have been struggling with this for so long. i have tried to develop willpower but it doesnt happen without suffering and so far the only way to get trough that amount of suffering is the belief that ultimately it will improve me, make me stronger than the rest. i dont know how else to develop that kind of willpower. i have tried to see it in the eyes of love but that just causes me a great deal of anger.
i know in the sto way a lot is done on faith rather than willpower but i dont see any other way for the specific situation im in.

I am reminded of an Alan Watts quote: "The reason you want to be better is the reason why you aren't."

I'm exploring my own willpower/yellow-ray energies as well..... so, wish I could give you more, but that quote by Watts kinda gave me a bit of whiplash so it might do something for you too.... or not.... either way Smile

Extrapolating a little bit... we truly don't know/understand, at least offhand, what's "best" or "worst" for us. So when we tell ourselves "I want to better myself", it begs the question, do we know what's best for ourselves?

this is just my little piece..... someone care to chime in?

Remember that the self is an other-self. You cant serve others and not serve yourself without creating separation between you and others—it is rather the reflection of STS in that sense but with the same effect of separation. It may be difficult to balance, but think of it as always going for the win-win. Don't martyr yourself for others; serve others but not to the detriment of self. Your 3D self is a responsibility and a gift.

Will+power, you say?  Anger, of course, traffics a form of power.  So, if that power is available to you, why not harness it?  You could use it wildly as such, or you could whisper to it, soften it and train it to be your productive power source.  For instance, you may find beneath the shell of anger lies concealed a passionate drive within yourself which you could connect with and direct towards your desired goals.  This seems a rather efficient endeavor, should you possess sufficient willpower to pursue it.

Past, and future seems to be your primary concerns at the moment.

"I tried to develop...." - Past

"it will improve me, make me stronger than the rest..." - Future

    "I don't know how else..." - Present

    " I don't see any other way..." - Present

If you can, try to be more in the present... Your answer may lie here.

I feel that "giving" you the answer you need isn't going to help you. As you probably have heard plenty of before... like "meditation." "Go with the flow." etc. etc.

But that isn't "good" enough for you.

You want, and you desire a "destination."

The "script" that we made for ourselves before incarnation are saturated with "lessons" in itself, I would reflect on the lessons and see if any of them resonated/ingrained with you in this lifetime.

Frustration will be natural. This leads to anger, and other catalyst.

The "moment" right before dawn is the coldest.

    hope this helps,

    with much light Dexter.
