I'm trying to help even though that is virtually impossible to do...

The attempt and the motivation to do so is more important than the actual achieving of such a goal!

    Greetings Plenum,

I spent nearly 15 years writing / developing / improving my book of philosophy...

As I give it away free on the internet I would assume that not too many people are aware of it, but the few that have responded have given me positive feedback.

My other creative output, and the other way in which I'm trying to help is through my music...

As I refuse to commercialise my book, I feel that the most appropriate way to promote it is through my musical efforts which is why I plan to spend a 5 figure sum next year creating the album I've been tying to make, off and on, for 20 years.

I don't want fame for fame's sake, but I would like my book to be known to those whom might find it useful.

I'm probably too old, fat and balding to become a big "star" Tongue, but I adore music and it's all I want to do with the rest of my life!

    L & L

    Jim

I'd say to help others you must first help and be of assistance to yourself. Only in cultivating ones own talents and gifts can they contribute what they have so that the whole may benefit, rather than moulding or sacrificing themselves towards some ideal that they think would be of help to others. In trying to be of service to others at the expense of the self is not conducive at all, though I'm sure you are aware of this.

You sound like you're really passionate about music, which is awesome. Certainly go with that. Music at certain frequencies carries certain tonal patterns that are conducive to healing and instilling various 'desirable' (efficient) traits, so that's something you may wish to look at if you're not already doing so. Recently I have been finding that ones creative faculties can be hampered by intellectualising it's natural flow, instead resulting in distortion. In other words, play and express your music simply for the sake of doing so, because you enjoy, live and breathe it. The rest will fall into place in the timely manner it should.

You're right man, that's good advice and reflects what those close to me have said.

I should concentrate all my efforts in taking the time to make the best art that I can, for the sake of making the best art that I can, and whatever comes from it comes.

    Cheers

    Jim
