Just wanted to share this dream I had. I thought it was pretty cool.
I had only been asleep a max of 20 minutes when this dream took place, because when I woke back up, that was all the time that had passed since I went to bed. I often wonder if the whole statement that we only dream during REM sleep is total BS, seeing how I can be asleep for no longer than five minutes and have vivid dreams instead of it coming in 90 minute cycles.
Anyway, in my dream, I woke up and sat up in bed. I was back in my old bedroom at my parents’ house, though in my dream I didn’t realize I was in a different bedroom. I reached over and tried to turn on the light next to my bed and it wouldn’t turn on. I looked over toward my bathroom and saw a sort of greenish glow, though it wasn’t so much glowing as…not sure how to explain it. You know those colors you see when you press your palms into your eyes for a long time? It looked like that. For a moment this “light” sort of formed the shape of a skull, and I got sort of scared.
I got up and began walking over toward the dresser near the bathroom, to turn on that light. As I got closer to the dresser, I felt a pressure on my body, as if something was trying to keep me from going forward. It was extremely hard to move but I finally made it to the dresser and tried that light, but it wouldn’t turn on, either.
At that moment I realized I was dreaming, so I just completely surrendered and let myself fall back. The pressure instantly vanished and it felt like I was floating. I decided to try to astral project since I was in a lucid state. Very slowly, with great difficulty, I began to slide out of my body. It felt like I was a grape splitting out of its skin, or a hermit crab trying to squeeze out of a too-small shell. I could feel myself starting to separate, but I couldn’t quite get the hang of it and seemed to be sitting halfway out of my body.
Suddenly I became distinctly aware of the smell of my pillows and realized where I was. For a few moments I couldn’t move, then I slid completely back into my body and got up.
It seems I haven’t entirely mastered the whole lucid dreaming thing yet, but I thought it was cool regardless.
I have also had several dreams lately where I am doing what I can only describe as “light spells.” I call out these words that sound like every language somehow rolled into one, and as I say the words these symbols appear in light before me. Some of the words remind me of what little Hebrew I‘ve had contact with. They form a circle and once the circle is completed and the last word is recited some sort of spell effect takes place. Pretty much every time I’ve used this it has been a form of protective magic. Once I was protecting a canoe from a hail of arrows. After I completed the spell all of the arrows missed the canoe completely. Once I used this technique to make a man who was attacking me forget what he was doing, and he just sort of shrugged and walked away. These times involved less than 10 symbols. Then I did this huge one where I was rattling off about 50 of these things, making a huge circle, and I created some huge force field to protect people from some enormous natural disaster.
Then in one dream I had a throwdown with a very dark and negative being. This man was pretty much trying to destroy the earth and I was trying to stop him, then his son came out to battle me. I started casting the light symbols but he was crushing the spells before I could even finish getting them out. He held up his hand and suddenly I couldn’t breathe. I thought I was going to die but something happened to distract him. I would say that this type of “magic” isn’t very good combat magic, or at least I’m very bad at using it that way. Course, I’m a major tree-hugger, so combat isn’t really my thing to begin with.
Anyway, just thought these were interesting and wanted to share.
