What do others think of this poem I wrote 25 years ago?

    Soul Song

A blackness sought, the night did see
    An enigmatic and mysterious tree
A whisper silent with room to grow
The infinite horizon, a longing to know
An empty mind, the devious thought
It is today, but once was not
A stone, alone, in empty space
Another floats to guide its pace

A power beyond, he once did see
One word gained, another set free
A watch to prowl, the capture fraught
To hold it can, a suspenseful thought
One can know the generous mind
He stares through again as if blind
Distance he sees is an empty heart
A painting so true can resemble this art

A thought he expects doesn't do what it's told
A sight that he sees can be hard to behold
The songs of peace are a wonderful word
The open wound, a dream to be heard
High up above, and endless cool light
Guiding the soul in the deadness of night
Your weakness is innocence, most undoubtedly so
A precious mind can describe where to go

He can understand, but will you not
A pain intense when his soul is bought
A challenge it is when the auction begins
The price is the pain, and so it begins
Try to stop and look back to the past
To when all time was one, but it never did last
Wish what you want, a gift can be yours
It is not too late for a key to the doors

The one who is wise is rarely wrong
Look for some time, and his presence is gone
Can you see through your mind to remember his face
He is not gone, the mind holds a trace
Go to dream and remember it well
Hear the music your mind has to tell
A spiritual flute can open the way
Follow the path, what words have to say

And at last, it will end, a journey of will
And for a moment time will stand still
Use it again, the emotional high
It all will come down to make anyone cry
Not a sad, but a happy time
All emotions at once to the top they will climb
So the end, it is said is a place
In his mind at his time you will see his face

You will know when you see
And darkness surrounds a peaceful tree

I think it shows that you were born a good, and deep-thinking, writer. I'm very glad to see you back here. Smile
