    I see cognitive dissonance in religious folks a lot. It mainly affects lower intellect+belief. Clinging to irrational belief over all logic or experience. I am surrounded by those folks. When you are surrounded by brainwashed populace your ability to "see" things makes you out to be the crazy one. BigSmile
    Hmm, which is worse, sane and uncomfortably awake, or insane and comfortably numb and asleep. Tongue

    An actual first-hand spiritual experience will give the person the faith they need to support that belief in most cases, I think. Smile The problem is that that's a high price of devotion to ask for most people who live with those sorts of beliefs.
