I did the Morning Offering and then got myself ready for the day. Today the Ra quote comes from 102.19-.20:
“Questioner: You mentioned the possibility of surgery. What would be the surgery to be done, specifically?
Ra: I am Ra. The body cannot long bear the extreme acidity which is the environment of such spasms and will develop the holes or ulcerations which then do appear upon the allopathic testings and suggest to the chirurgeon that which is to be excised.
Questioner: In other words, the removal of ulcers. Would this be a duodenic ulcer? Would this be the type of operation that you would perform for a duodenic ulcer?
Ra: I am Ra. If the ulceration occurs, it shall be past the jejunum, and most likely include the ileum and upper portions of the transverse colon.
May we ask for one more query of normal length as this entity, though filled with enough transferred energy, has the most fragile framework through which we may channel this and our energies.”
In this question Don asked Ra what kind of surgery Ra had earlier referred to as a possible solution to the spasming within most of Carla’s internal organs. Apparently this condition of spasming comes about when there is a great deal of acid within the body. In Carla’s case, Ra said that this acidic condition created holes, or ulcers, which could be confirmed by certain medical tests.
So Don’s second question asked if this surgery would be for a “duodenic” ulcer, and Ra replied that any surgery would involve the ileum and the transverse colon. This is what an internet search said about a “duodenic ulcer”:
A Duodenal Ulcer refers to under the broad category of stomach ulcers. Although the ulcer develops in the intestine just outside the stomach, it is close enough in nature and symptoms to stomach ulcers to share the name. Sometimes clinics also refer to this type of ulcer as a peptic ulcer. It is one of the more common medical problems since some researchers claim you have a ten percent chance of developing a stomach ulcer. People over the age of sixty are most at risk of getting such an ulcer and men are at the most risk.”
Carla did have surgery in February of 1992 in which 7 inches of her transverse colon were removed. The surgeon was a little surprised to find a few grains of rice were seemingly attached to one of the ulcerations on the portion of the transverse colon that he removed. He said that he would have expected them to be floating freely around the outside of the transverse colon, but they seemed almost magnetically attracted to the ulcer.
Then Ra finished their answer by asking for a final question even though Carla had a good supply of transferred energy available. Ra said that the instrument had “the most fragile framework through which we may channel this and our energies.” This fragile framework was very likely due to Carla’s long-term experience of arthritic pain combined with the spasming condition which was also very painful. The combination of these conditions left her body completely exhausted. The Ra contact was already equal to a harsh day’s work as Ra mentioned in 60.4:
Questioner: You are saying, then, that the physical distortions that the instrument experienced are part of a balancing process? Is this correct?
Ra: I am Ra. This is incorrect. The physical distortions are a result of the instrument’s not accepting fully the limitations placed prior to incarnation upon the activities of the entity once it had begun the working. The distortions caused by this working, which are inevitable given the plan chosen by this entity, are limitation and, to a degree consonant with the amount of vital and physical energy expended, weariness, due to that which is the equivalent in this instrument of many, many hours of harsh physical labor.
This is why we suggested the instrument’s thoughts dwelling upon the possibility of its suggesting to its higher self the possibility of some slight reservation of energy at a working. This instrument at this time is quite open until all resources are quite exhausted. This is well if desired. However, it will, shall we say, shorten the number of workings in what you may call the long run.
So these added sources of pain required that Ra take even more care in transmitting their energy, and the transferred energy, through Carla’s channel.
This morning I finished Chapter 7 of Living the Law of One 103: The Inner Work. That was the last chapter, so 103 is now updated with every way I could think of to expand on topics to make them more understandable. Now I will go back to Living the Law of One 102: The Outer Work to do the same thing there, but I will have to start somewhere after Chapter 4 as Austin and Gary have begun editing the first few chapters. I’m not sure where they left off before leaving for the Prague Gathering in the Czech Republic last Wednesday.
This afternoon I pumped a quarter of the water out of the fish pond and refilled it with fresh water. While the water was pumping out I fertilized the water lilies and used my hoe to weed the gardens around the fish pond. While the pond was refilling I used my hake (combination of a rake and a hoe) to till the soil around the flowers along the parking area in the front of the house, the two flower mounds in the front yard, and the Sun Mandela in the back yard. That will help any future rains to sink further into the soil when they come.

A Turn Of The Eye
I am of the principle of Jesus the Christ and I greet you in the full consciousness of love.
This instrument does not believe that we have anything new to say, for its mind has been over-busy with many things and meditation has been interrupted by the thoughts of the day which come in this instrument’s mind.
And yet we say that to every mind, however caught up in the affairs of the day, the Holy Spirit of Jesus the Christ speaks. It is as though a simple angle of the ear, a simple turn of the eye, the seeing about a corner is all that is needed. A quiet turning inside; a small repositioning of the mind and the voice of spirit sings once again.
For each day and for each person, in any move, in any degree of attention to the spirit whatsoever, that great principle of love, which is who we are in manifestation, in communication, may speak forth. That quiet voice, just out of reach, by a simple turn of mind comes into earshot and heart-shot.
May your days be merry! May they be full of busy things. We do not ask concentration upon holy things. We ask that in doing precisely what each soul wishes to do it may also wish to turn and listen to the voice of the Holy One.
We are with you in peace wherever you may go, whatever you may do, now and always. Amen.
