Many passages of history have been manipulated. However, there are some kernels of truth. For instance, in what Jesus concerns, even the most skpetical exponent of textual criticism of the New Testament, Bart Ehrman, admits that Jesus was a historical person. Of course, the Bible itself contains many interpolations, false stories and anachronisms, but it also has historical facts.
