Have you any idea on it ??

For my part the only rush I have as far as call is that I have to paint, which is ok, lol, since I am a painter. Otherwise I just love to do things to help even to detriment of painting or own health, so no t only is there no resistance to it but rather like a prequel to the urge, lol

But the painting urge I resisted often at different times of my life and used the help urge  not to paint, so i did several jobs and used also the help to deflect. But now that i am a tad wiser, in the second part of life I am painting nearly obsessively, lol.

Do you find when you don’t resist, that you feel joy, even great joy or exaltation, I am curious.

I was going to name the thread “Calling” but I felt like the current one is catchier and one we can all relate to.

Futile is not needed in much cases, the easiest way is always not to participate.

Maybe it is futile to share this message?

What force is pushing or pulling you to do something?

It's the free will.
So you can ask if it is futile to resist your free will?

That feeling has returned. I am being called again. At least this time I understand why.

The thing that I have noticed about not participating is that the urge to help remains. For instance, I currently feel like I could go volunteer at a Food Bank. The only thing that is stopping me is fear of infection even though I am fully vaccinated.

I would ponder this. I don't mean to sound like some sage, but that is what I would do given such a conflict. Only you can resolve it.

"Resistance is futile" calls up images of the Borg, and the hive mind, or collective consciousness. The Borg were portrayed as beings who conquered other tribes, bringing all into service for the hive mind ... a loss of the individual's free will to totally serve the hive. (The Borg is just my own personal association with this statement; it may not be yours.)

Yet, here in 3D, we enjoy a great deal of free will to choose our own path, to express. And, ironically (to me), it's our uniqueness that is most critical to serving our one-ness. 

As the One Creation/Creator, we are a collective consciousness of 3D individual beings. And, it seems that you are being nudged to do L&L work, yet you are encountering your own energies of resistance, if I understood correctly. It also seems that there's a sense of separation almost like: I'm being called from outside of myself to do light work. That outer calling is also an inner calling when we step into, right?

Is there a place of compromise? A place where you can do light work and also feel a sense of resonance? 

If there is such a place, there may be harmony or a sense of balance there: you are exercising free will to choose how you express "light work."

From what I can gather, I think you could relax a little and not think about harsh consequences for not providing a service. I like to think that our higher self and god have a lot of mercy, love and patience with us. To feel that you will be punished and have to suffer for not following through with these urges would make the universe quite a severe and forceful place.

Give yourself time...more than anything I second what Diana said, you have stuff to ponder here

Let me put this in a different context. I dream a lot. As in every single night. In the past I woke up in the morning with an overwhelming feeling to do something but I had no clue what was needed to be initiated. In the present I understand what this pulling feeling means. I understand most people on this forum will say well then why don't you just help. I guess for me it is the unforeseen consequences that are the main problem. I gave volunteering at a Food Bank as an example. Anyone can do this but I consider this to be trivial. I know I shouldn't be saying that. However, what would be the greater work. Helping those with individual uncertainties or mental health disturbances. Most of last year I was in school taking psychology classes only because the year before I randomly said I should be a Psychologist. I was helping someone out at the time. Anyways, the unforeseen consequences would be helping those with severe mental problems that I understand will take years to help and may not be forthcoming so easily.

I love studying the mind. I don't like taking classes.

Do I understand correctly? a) unforeseen consequences are causing resistance, and b) you're being called to do greater work, "light work," or beyond the physical. If so ... 

Sounds like there's enough questioning and concerns that it's showing up as resistance, problems. As others have said, explore them in meditation, journaling, contemplation ... May  consider asking higher self how you may work with these energies of resistance, or baby step into this calling. (Note: My higher self offered something, and I wasn't ready so declined.) Pay attention to your dreams and see if there are any clues, wisdom you can relate to this topic?

Higher self and positive entities will never enforce changes on you.
Yet they do help to setup events where 'catalyst' can be experienced.
What will be the reaction or action taken from experiencing the catalyst is entirely up to you.

The negative is the exact opposite.
They whisper message / thoughts into your mind, usually containing element of fear, guilt and punishment.
They would love to enforce something to you (control) but they can't do it unless you've given them permission to do so. (Law of Free Will).
They will then induced thoughts into your mind in order to manipulatively get that permission from you.
The threatening statement/thought of "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE" is usually coming from them.

The only thing I can surmise about negative contact is that we have to initiate it not them.

Just like the internet, the "astral / akeshic network" is a two way network, they can also initiate the connection.
Just like the internet, distance and space is not an issue.
Yet one always can choose to reject or ignore the message or block the connection.

Thus it's important to classify and discern the thought that appeared in one head.
That's the reason why some people advice practicing dis-identifying the self from the mind, such as in meditation.
The thought / idea is not my thought / idea.
Once dis-identified one can process the information / thought inside the mind more objectively.

Having said that, always see our negative brothers/sisters as part of yourselves that somehow took a different path of experience because they experienced different things.
