I think that this quote is so profound that it gives me shivers along my whole spine! This quote is like a message of release of all the defense and all the yap, giving it all up, and just embracing... Heart

    no choice but to love

i cant choose who im going to hug.
this love im feeling is just too too good
to keep it all to myself.
in the end it oils our relationships
    makes things go smoother
    between people
and gives us something to look forward to
    love is exciting and hopeful
there really is no better way to be
or at least that is the truth
    as it exists for me.

My beloved sister, why do you dye your hair blonde?
My beautiful sister, why do you fake your eyelashes green?
Don’t you know how magnificent you are in all your originality?
My beloved sister, look at that pimple on your chin. Do you see its beauty? Behold, it even wears a tiny white crown.
    Ponder its story.
Like everything under the sun it has a purpose. It has meaning. Why would you want to destroy purpose? Why deny meaning?
My beautiful sister, look at that hair growing on your chin. It is made of keratin. Creation.
Ponder it, see how the sun surrounds it with a golden halo. When you have listened to its story you may remove it. Or just leave it.
It does not really matter because even if you remove it it will still be there, in a way.
    Nothing ever gets lost here.

Wow, what a powerful poem advocating self-acceptance in our world that is at the moment consumed with cosmetic appearance. But I think there is a deeper meaning too in your poem, Meerie. Who is it addressed to? Who is the sister? Does it refer to the seeker of the ONE?

And I thoroughly enjoyed the manner in which you dealt with issues such as pimples, which can usually gross many people. Well done, Meerie. Great, intelligent, beautiful and very articulate work. Enjoyed it.

I wrote it last year and sort of retrieved it from memory.
It is just that often these "cosmetic" changes make a person look fake and unnatural imo. From that on the story sort of developed into seeing beauty in pimples and chin hair as well. BigSmile

Yes, there is a proverb in my native tongue that goes something like this -- "the beauty of the inner being shows itself on the face".

And I am sure your face is truly beautiful, Meerie, for it houses one of the most spiritually glorious soul that I know of Smile

How many wonderful people I know of through b4th! Heart

Talk about held and carried mental patterns!!!

.... So I was cleaning out some old storage stuff, the kind that ultimately leads to mulling over items of the past, the kind of items that you aren't really sure why you kept to begin with.
I found an old, tattered folder with a marijuana leaf drawn on the cover. Apparently, it was my best drawing ever, why else would I keep it. It contained various unimportant papers from high school. I came across a poem. I suppose I wrote it. It has my name on it. I don't think I really know this person that was me at half my age now. LOL, there was a single note from a teacher written on it, "late". Yeah, sounds like me :-).
(I really hope I'm not claiming credit here for something I plagiarized. If I did, it should be famous, and definitely not from a peer. Either way, I'm embarrassed that I claimed it my own or that I think it good enough to be famous. LOL. .)

This is me, eighteen years ago. I'm tripping out right now.

    Purpose of Reality:

Feels like they are staring at me
    Everyone is staring at me
    Eyes bulging out of heads
    Everything is turning
    My mind is surly yearning
Fingers fumble for the thoughts you've bred.

My life is envied, because of you, I don't care
Come on all you people stare
    I don't care, I just don't care

    ....Green power flowing in
....Feel the energy, its burning me
....My mind begins a trip in thought

....There is no need for reality
....Step up to follow my lead
....There's just no need for reality

Seems like you should follow me
    Everyone just show me
That you're not afraid to take the step
Out of what is flesh and bone.
    My lead is not control
But it is only you I show.

My purpose is not of evil
    I still have all respect
    Deny reality with reject.

    ....Green energy glowing
....Like a candle in my grin
....My mind fills with positive thoughts

....There is no need for reality
    ....Jump up and follow me
....There's just no need for reality
    ........no need for reality
    ........no need for reality

    For a New Beginning

In out-of-the-way places of the heart,
Where your thoughts never think to wander,
This beginning has been quietly forming,
Waiting until you were ready to emerge.

For a long time it has watched your desire,
Feeling the emptiness growing inside you,
Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.

It watched you play with the seduction of safety
And the gray promises that sameness whispered,
Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,
Wondered would you always live like this.

Then the delight, when your courage kindled,
And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream,
A path of plenitude opening before you.

Though your destination is not yet clear
    You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life's desire.

    Awaken your spirit to adventure;
    Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.

    ive something to share

ive something to share with others

that has nothing to do with money.
it lives in my words but is greater
than any thing i could ever say.

i guess u could say its my vibe, my beingness,
    who i am.

likes kids and animals and stones.
    believes in sharing with others
and is tolerant of others beliefs

thinks the world we live in is just plain nuts
and prays for a better one almost every day

thats me and i kind of like it

    seven generations down the line
if we lived this way we'd be doing fine

but we chose a different path indeed
one filled with ego, pride and greed

all signs from nature read, "dead end"
will we heed the message? will we mend?

    out of balance...time runs short
    the ship is sinking...abort...abort

    The Journey

    One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
    though the voices around you
    kept shouting
    their bad advice --
    though the whole house
    began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
    at your ankles.
    "Mend my life!"
    each voice cried.
    But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
    though the wind pried
    with its stiff fingers
    at the very foundations,
    though their melancholy
    was terrible.
    It was already late
    enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
    branches and stones.
    But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
    the stars began to burn
    through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
    which you slowly
    recognized as your own,
    that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
    into the world,
    determined to do
the only thing you could do --
    determined to save
the only life you could save.

letting go of every negative possibility
i choose to focus on something brighter

the choice dear ones is ours
to look up or to look down.

    i choose up

    its boring

its boring pretending we are not connected to one another
the truth is that we are ,
the more we shed our egoistic identity
    the more connected we feel.
i look forward to the time
    that all barriers are dissolved
    and humanity as a collective
    approaches whatever challenges we
    may encounter.
    heart and soul comingled
    our connectedness is our joy

    Piglet's Song

    Let's find a Way today,
that can take us to tomorrow.
    We'll follow that Way,
    A Way like flowing water.

    Let's leave behind,
the things that do not matter.
    And we'll turn our lives,
    to a more important chapter.

Let's take the time and try to find,
what real life has to offer.
And maybe then we'll find again,
    what we had long forgotten.
Like a friend, true 'til the end,
    it will help us onward.

The sun is high, the road is wide,
and it starts where we are standing.
No one knows how far it goes,
    for the road is never-ending.

    It goes away,
beyond what we have thought of.
    It flows away,
    Away like flowing water.

    ****************************************
    The secret

    There is the simple world,
    This creation.
    It hints to something.
    Follow the hints boldly,
    Seek. Ask. Enquire.
    Naked,
    Abandoning all selfishness
    Dive deeply within.
    Dissolve.
    See the whole creation
    Hidden in the secret
    And the secret in creation.

You are the nameless, boundless sea!

to the little 12 year old girl dying of cancer

i first saw u in the commercial for st. judes childrens hospital

u were being treated for inoperable brain cancer.

i saw your nobility and your dignity, way way way beyond
    your years.
much more so than most adults that i have encountered.

this was your second time here,
you had gone into remission and then the cancer had come back

here u were 12 years old being treated with chemo and radiation
and yet still running around helping the younger ones , the 4 and 5 year olds

carrying them to their treatments, being with them , soothing them
how very very noble of you.

my heart leaped in my chest, i wanted you to heal so much.

they interviewed your mother, a good woman, a rock,

lord, i said, u have got to help her get better u have just got to.

u died , u passed away u didnt make it

my heart broke, invisible hands pounding unseen walls

why god why i just dont understand, i dont get it

why did she have to die, there are so many others who

deserve to die so much more than she did.

pol pot , murderer of two million lives to be 75

and you die at the age of 12.

i just dont get it lord, i just dont get it
