102 Chapter Six

Environmentalism

Oneness of planet, us and everything

“We do not limit this unity to other entities you would call human. It is as if all of nature, from the elements and the powers to the plants and animals, to the very air you breathe and the water that you drink, the fire that warms your heart and the earth under your feet, are dancing in rhythm. And you are either part of that dance and part of that rhythm or you have not yet awakened to the true state within which you actually dwell in the creation of the Father. It is as a beloved part of the one creation that you come by this affinity for synchronicity.” Q’uo, September 11, 2010

Q’uo made it quite clear that we who inhabit Mother Earth are more than her human population which she dearly loves. We are, in the deepest and most experiential sense, one with Gaia. The earth, wind, fire, and water, which were her first inhabitants in the first density, gave birth to the various forms of life that have developed on Earth and which have evolved into many of the 8 billion souls which now inhabit this planet. It does not matter than the majority of these souls have come from other third-density planets to repeat third density here, as we and our Mother Earth are also one with all of their planets of origin and are one with the infinite creation. The fact that we are all here now together illustrates the responsibility that we all have to care for our Mother Earth as she cares for us.

The “synchronicity” that Q’uo mentioned in the above quote has brought us all together in this massive dance of consciousness seeking to move back into unity with the One Creator who made us all. This is a fact that has been so little understood in the 75,000 years of the third density experience on Earth that thousands of years of wars between various portions of Earth’s populations have wreaked havoc on Gaia’s earthly essence. Ra spoke to this point in the following quote.

“When an entire planetary system of peoples and cultures repeatedly experiences disharmony on a great scale, the earth under the feet of these entities shall begin to resonate with this disharmony. Due to the nature of the physical vehicle, disharmony shows up as a blockage of growth or an uncontrolled growth, since the primary function of a mind/body/spirit complex’s bodily complex is growth and maintenance.

In the case of your planet, the purpose of the planet is the maintenance of orbit and the proper location or orientation with regards to other cosmic influences. In order to have this occurring properly the interior of your sphere is hot, in your physical terms. Thus, instead of uncontrolled growth you begin to experience uncontrolled heat and its expansive consequences.” Ra, 60.20

These thousands of years of “disharmony” expressed as wars have caused our Earth to release “uncontrolled heat and its expansive consequences” in the forms of volcanoes, earthquakes, violent weather patterns, and tidal waves. This slow release of heat has the purpose of attempting to harmonize Mother Earth with the increasing waves of fourth-density vibrations which have been engulfing her for the past few decades. It would be most helpful if the present population of Earth could realize the extreme necessity for the health of Mother Earth, and their own movement towards making the Harvest, by seeing past the seeming separation of souls on Earth to the unity that binds us all together as one potential social memory complex. Latwii had an inspiring overview of this nature of unity:

At a certain point in your evolution you will no longer have groups that are smaller than the planetary consciousness, for you will have discovered that you are all men and women of Earth, as you call your planet. We call your planet Sorrows. There are many names depending upon the quarter of the sky from which our ships have come. When that occurs, there will not be a feeling of “nationalism,” there will be a feeling of planetary oneness due to the fact that the true geographical entity upon your planet is the planet. Latwii, May 4, 1980.

This morning I took one of our Homecoming attendees to the airport and then ran a couple of errands on the way home. My first stop was as Paul’s Fruit Market to get some food for myself, and then I stopped at Feeder’s Supply to pick up some cat food and some bird seed.

This afternoon the L/L staff and a number of good friends came over, and we all worked to get the tent area and the house back in the proper order. I did a couple loads of laundry to get two of the three bedrooms’ sheets and pillow cases clean and back on the beds. I will finish the third bedroom tomorrow and probably vacuum all three as well. It was so good to work with all of these beautiful people to do this work. It is so precious to have a spiritual family to accomplish work in both the physical and metaphysical sense. I am blessed in so many ways.

Use The Light Of Christ

I am of that principle known to you as the consciousness of Jesus the Christ and I greet you in full and divine love.

This morning, as we sit with you in meditation, we who comfort urge you to feel the love of Christ and the light of Christ as it is with you at this moment.

Know that the light of Christ moving through your eyes shall enable them truly to see.

Know that through the perfect light of Jesus the Christ your ear may be made truly to hear.

Know that as the divine light of the spirit of Christ plays through your mind, disturbances shall be blessed by the addition of light. And the fire of divine love shall burn out the brush fires of petty emotion.

Visualize, acknowledge and use the light of Christ when you open your mouth; when you extend your hand; when you learn and when you teach. For the light of Christ renews all things.

And each thing that is renewed, in turn may then recreate that which seems, in this light, to be able to become more blessed and more whole, more at balance and more at peace.

May the light, the love, the joy and the peace of Jesus Christ be with you now and evermore. Amen.

Company activities—making a home and family at work

“Those of like mind which together seek shall far more surely find.” Ra, 83.17

This quote from Ra gives us a good idea as to what kind of enhanced opportunities are available to people in their work environment when they blend their energies together in an harmonic manner. This takes the concept of the team further until it is like a family. No matter what kind of work is being accomplished, if people can become equal partners in the process of deciding what to do, why to do it, and how to do it, then the talents of each person will be utilized to their fullest potential. This is a model for the workplace that is the opposite of the traditional authority flowing from the top management down to the lowly workers who are valued only by how well they take and carry out orders. Q’uo mentions how this type of a workplace can be transformed into a spiritual environment:

In the yellow-ray energy center, there is the opportunity to expand the energies of the One Creator upon the level of the group. The entities that are united in a certain fashion that allows them to share a commonality that is expressed within the group, such as the home, or family, the school, the workplace, the team, and so forth. These energies, in the positive sense, are utilized in order to share the abilities of the group in what you might call the “training wheels phenomenon” that will later become, if the fourth-density harvest is achieved by the society, the social memory complex. In the yellow-ray energy center, however, before that complex forms, there is the opportunity to begin to relate to other groups as if there was a common goal or feature between what, in negative polarity, is seen as competing groups.

Thus, in the positive sense, the entities share that which is theirs, that which is unique to them, with that which is needed by others in a group sense, so that two groups then become much likened unto one group. In this positive sense then, each group becomes, in effect, the other group, so that there is one group as a result. Q’uo, September 7, 2019.

It is fitting that such a cooperative workplace would be occurring now as our Earth is moving into the fourth density of love and understanding. The competitive consciousness that has long influenced the manner of people’s thinking as to how to behave towards each other is now expanding into cooperative consciousness. Such cooperative consciousness sees the intrinsic value of each human being as having the consciousness of the Creator within the open heart, and that heart gives freely in unconditional love. Q’uo speaks to the quality of the open heart and suggests how we may aid it in all of our endeavors, including making the workplace like unto a home:

As your maturity has brought you away from direct experience with the birth family and as life has also brought you past having to deal with the more difficult aspects of the marriage family, it is time now in your incarnation for the difficulties to focus on the work family.

How may you be most skillful in encouraging yourself to see these difficulties as the agents of maturity, those agents that will help you become stronger in your yellow ray? Each entity must work with this for herself. And perhaps it is enough for us to say to you that as long as you continue to seek to see the Creator in every entity whom you meet, you cannot go wrong.

This entity often asks herself, “Where is the love in this moment?” My sister, when you ask yourself, “Where is the love in this moment,” as concerns your yellow-ray work environment, you may find that the love in the moment must come from you. Therefore, see yourself as a creature of love that is faithful and confident, because she knows that this situation has been given to her that she may grow and become stronger, wiser and more loving. As we are able to transform our own perceptions of who we are and connect with the “love in this moment” our lives in general and our workplace in particular become like unto a family of love. This way of living and thinking becomes a transformative experience so that our workplace can become a spiritual family that extends itself in a wider and wider influence.

This is the wave of the future for all human endeavors. Everyone in the shared work environment will be seen as valuable workers in all levels of interaction in the social memory complex now forming on planet Earth. Thus it is hoped all shall become Players on the Enhanced Gameboard of life. 

This morning we were able to enjoy presentation on the topics of The Miracle of Self-Healing, Entheogens & Their Role in Spirituality, Meditation and the Mystical Path, and Love in 3D.

This afternoon we enjoyed presentations on the topics of the Seven-Stringed Instrument: Plucking Harmony, Tone Poems, & other Sonifications, and Working with the Tree of Life. We ended our Homecoming Gathering with a channeling session.

Be Christ

I am the spirit that is meek, the heart that is humble, and the hand that is turned to service. I come to you as the spirit of the infinite love of Jesus the Christ.

Reach out your hand. You see before you an illusion. Yet within the illusion of that hand is warm flesh and blood, a tool and resource for the manifestation of this humble spirit of love.

Open your mouth and give voice. You may give voice in manifestation of the love of Christ. It is not necessary to be loud, dramatic and strident to know within that the infinite love of Christ goes before you and behind you and upon either side and that your stretched-out hand, therefore, though meek, has all the infinite power of the love of Christ.

Be Christ in manifestation to those who are seeking and hungering for the truth.

The “Team”—finding synergy with people at work

If a team entails people working together to reach a common goal, it would seem that most people who would be part of a team would have the opportunity to be of service to others by the very nature of their interaction with others on the team. I think that this would be particularly true in the work place as the goal of such work would be to produce some product or service that could be sold and provide each person on the team a means of financial support. It would also be most helpful if the product or service that was provided by the team was such as to truly be helpful to those who would purchase it.

The various members of the team in the workplace would ideally each have specific functions to perform in order for the team to be most effective in reaching its goals. This kind of teamwork would require that each member be capable of performing its particular part of the work in a way acceptable to the team. Each member would also need to be able to clearly communicate with other members of the team as a kind of grease to the wheels of smooth functioning. Q’uo gave some inspired advice as to how we may communicate in a synergistic way with the fellow members of the workplace team:

Beyond all considerations, the chief lessons of the enterprise have always to do with accepting love from others and giving love to others without pride, vanity or feelings of unworthiness. The work that each of you does in truly entering into the energies of each of you will create creative pathways that will link in a more, shall we say, telepathic or whole-concept level so that the synergy of energy fields becomes consciously validated by belief in the opinion of those present, thus freeing those energy exchanges between each to take place at an enhanced rate. Q’uo, March 7, 2002.

Sports teams are another kind of work that would have a similar function, as the goal would be to exercise power over other teams so that the victory would belong to only one team. That is the nature of both businesses and team sports as both participate in attempting to be more successful that their competitors. Both are players on the flat gameboard of life and need to be able to communicate with fellow team members in a clear and practical way in order to achieve their goals. However, people in both these areas of activity could also use their status within their careers to work in service-to-others ways within the larger community such as supporting various charitable organizations, help with disaster relief, becoming advocates for the homeless, and supporting programs like foster parenting. Ra spoke of the more restricted kind of sports team efforts as often utilizing the orange-ray chakras:

Others of your gadgets may be seen to be tools whereby the entity explores the capabilities of its physical or mental complexes and in some few cases, the spiritual complex, thus activating the orange ray in what you call your team sports and in other gadgets such as your modes of transport. These may be seen to be ways of investigating the feelings of power; more especially, power over others or a group power over another group of other-selves.

Any time we engage in team sports we are, as Ra said, “investigating the feelings of power” because the objective of any sport is to win the game just as the team in the workplace would like to create more sales. I would say that most of the time the exercise of this power over another team is done in the spirit of friendly competition without any negative thoughts of creating injury or any type of negative polarity. Of course it is possible that certain team members may take a different stance as we all are unique beings with our own expressions of purpose and power in our life patterns.

The same situation would apply to those fans who back their teams by attending their games and cheering for them. The term “fan” is short for “fanatic”, so I can easily imagine as a fan it could become possible to harbor less-than-loving thoughts for the other team and their fans. All of these exercises of power over others in team sports or workplace teams are explorations of the nature of how to relate to others in the overall picture of our life patterns. The more mature souls would find it possible to love their opponents or business competitors as another version of themselves and be gracious in victory and in defeat on the sports field and within the life pattern. Q’uo had some inspiring words to offer regarding expanding our concept of the purpose of teams:

Whatever work we do as a team, whether in business or sports, is a means of coming together to achieve a commonly held goal. Q’uo called this the “training wheels phenomenon” and is simply a way in which we can pursue our spiritual path in being of service to others. This is the journey players that become Players on the Enhanced Gameboard of Life.

This morning the presentations began on a variety of topics such as Compassion, 4D Practicum & Prophecy, Edgar Cayce and The Law of One, the Power of Sound and Music for Healing, an Improv Workshop, I Love you A Thousand Forty-Four, AI & The Law of One, and The Early Days of L/L Research with Don, Carla, & Jim. It always amazes me how our Homecoming folks are so open-hearted and service-to-others oriented.

Hunger And Hope

I am the spirit of the living Christ and I greet you in the full consciousness of love.

This instrument has been bewildered, as we have flooded the instrument with images of hunger, poverty, entities without homes, without shelter, without clothing, and without hope.

This is a part of the perfect beauty of your illusion. This is that which may be found, not just in other places, but in yours. The spirit of Christ speaks to the world in love, in peace, and in service. What shall you do this day to acknowledge that your very selves are hungry?

Seek in your heart to find a call to renew, revive and replenish the concept of hope, for you are the spirit of Christ in the world today. Your hands give heavenly food as well as provender.

Above all hunger and disorder, may you see the overriding and underlying peace of Jesus Christ, now and ever. Amen.

Artists and craftspeople

Marcy Pederson gave this working definition of artists and craftspeople:

“Craft is always exercised upon something and aims at transformation of this into that. The craftsman understands what he wants to make. The craftsman’s skill is his knowledge of the means that are used to transform something and this mastery of those means. A fabricator understands what machines and tools are needed to transform metal into a desired shape. A seamstress is a master of a sewing machine. We typically think of trades like blacksmith when we think of craftsman. They are defined by the means they use.

The artist uses technique and has a form of skill like the craftsman. Skill does not make an artist, but a technician. With skill a technician can become an artist. An artist can also have a specific end in mid. They are not creating for a single purpose. They don’t know what is going to happen until it happens.”

So, the major difference between an artist and a craftsman seems to be that the artist creates a unique work each time that they feel the inspiration to create. A craftsperson will more likely repeat a previous standardized creation when they feel the desire to practice their trade. Either the artist or the craftsperson can be totally service to others in their work as their positive intentions may shine through their creations, which may also be functional and/or beautiful. The artist and the craftsperson each fulfill needs of the public in general, and each can be highly polarized in service to others depending upon their own personal spiritual journeys and how they view the universe around them.

And now, from a purely spiritual point of view, Q’uo gave us more of an overview of what it means to engage in artistic productions:

We speak, as we believe you intended us to speak, strictly of those artists who must express that which is within them and who are irresistibly drawn to perform and to share their gifts. Whether or not such entities would think of offering their gifts in a spiritual sense, it is, indeed, a spiritual exercise by its very definition. For in order to make contact with the creative impulse, the entity must move into the open heart or green-ray chakra and thereby move upwards into the ray of communication, the blue ray, and the ray of faith, indigo ray, and thenceforth to move into the violet ray and the gateway to intelligent infinity.

An artist is moving his attention into a place where he is able to draw from beyond that gateway the inspiration and information needed in order to be able to express the visions that he has seen and the perceptions he has garnered in his own way. He is as the treasure hunter who finds treasure and then must share it. Q’uo, April 26, 2008.

In this quote Q’uo uses the term “creative impulse” that exists within all true artists. This creative impulse is accessed, according to Q’uo, not so much through a conscious desire or choice but through that which is “irresistible” within one who has the creative impulse. It may not be a totally consciously chosen process but one which engages the green-ray open heart, the blue ray of communication and inspiration, the indigo-ray of faith and then to the contact with intelligent infinity which is the Creator moving through the creative process to produce whatever kind of artistic endeavor is native to the artist.

In this kind of spiritual process the artist is actually making a conscious or subconscious contact the with Creator within and the produces the fruits of that contact in one form or another, depending upon the type of art being produced: sculpture, paintings, poetry, prose, dance, music, or any creative combination of such artistic endeavors.

In the following quote those of Q’uo share the type of inspiration that can guide any creative process:

The process of channeling, creatorship, authorship or composer-ship is that of the tempering fire of circumstance, the quality, purity, intensity, crystallization and balance of the desires of the deep heart for the truth of the self and the truth of one’s service, and the quality of what this instrument would call alertness or awakeness. These are the tools which open the channels of creativity. There is a balance between intuition and guidance and the more artisan-like craft of learning, discovery analysis and synthesis which must needs find an inner bridge in order that the heart and the mind work together as a portion of an extended spiritual family, shall we say. We are that portion of your guidance that we naturally occupy by virtue of the shared soul stream. However, as we have often mentioned, our guidance comes more in the form of a kind of carrier wave that deepens and intensifies or sharpens in delineation the details of the personality shell’s own processes of dreaming, envisioning and seeking. Q’uo, December 19, 2002.

So Q’uo suggests that in any creative process that we might engage in we are either consciously or subconsciously accessing guidance from inner sources or even entities such as those of Q’uo to inspire us to expand our own creative abilities. It would make sense that our desire to create something of beauty and inspiration, whether a song, a painting, the creation of a garden, a dance, a poem or any other inspiring sharing of our energy, would be like unto a calling to unseen entities to aid us in reflecting the Creator in our work for others.

Here, Q’uo gives us another technique for awakening the creative process within our being:

As you continue asking for help, concepts shall come to you. We encourage you to trust them and to allow new ways and thoughts and strategies to roll around within your mind in a way that does not tag them and order them, but instead allows them to roll and to tumble together, for you are asking of yourself that which is illogical and paradoxical. These two elements almost guarantee that you are on the right track, spiritually speaking, but it does mean that you cannot apply the rigors of intellectual order to your creative process. Rather, let the concepts which arise play like puppies, tumbling and rolling and allow, rather than force, your strategy to unfold. Q’uo, October 20, 2009.

I would say that engaging in the creative process is definitely the work of the Player on the Enhanced Gameboard of Life.

This morning the L/L staff and a few friends finished the setup of the tent and in the house as well. I got our sign for “Diagonal Parking” put up next to the pet cemetery, and I used my backpack blower to blow leaves around the house into a pile so I could put them into a garbage can. I also got a bamboo privacy fence installed in front of the Porta Potty that will be close to the tent.

Our Homecoming Gathering will start at 5 pm this evening with a meal that everyone will share in the circle under the tent.

The Spirit Of Love

I am the spirit of Him who comes in the name of the Lord.

All things dwell within the love of God. The love of God is a power which emanates from each living thing. Long before one reaches another person the two sendings of love have intertwined and greeted each other.

There are those whose sensitivity causes them to find pain in the contact with the love of the Creator and pain in the contact with other souls. For the love of God is a strong and vibrant thing and one which removes one’s isolation completely.

Yet even in the midst of isolated countryside, that consciousness which emanates and exudes as the love of the Creator is sent out by each creation of the Father, each flower, grass and tree.

There are some sensitive souls who must then seek the cave. There the emanations of stone, water and air are silent or at least quiet enough that the soul who works alone may find rest.

We urge each to open the doors of acceptance to the life of the spirit of love in people and places and circumstances, but even if we speak to one within a cave we know that the love of God in Christ shall work with you at your chosen speed.

Entrepreneurs

When we speak of an entrepreneur, we have a person who is attempting to be a player in the business world. The effort put forth by such a person is, in a sense, creative as they are bringing a new business into being with their talents, money, partners, and willingness to work and take a risk that the venture will succeed. It is truly a creative effort if there is not only a new business but perhaps an entirely new product that is the focus of the entrepreneur’s efforts. In both situations there is a significant risk that the effort will fail for one reason or another. Q’uo had some suggestions as to the basic planning necessary for any such business venture:

^{There are two in this group, that is, three entities and two concerns, with an actual commitment of the self to a job or a new [business], and there are two other concerns within this group which have to do with attempting to create from nothing a network or cooperative or collaboration which is of a mixed nature, being partially spiritual and partially worldly. The process of visioning or envisioning is important.}

^{From the business standpoint, of course, it is well known that one may go through a planning process in which the questions are asked of the self concerning what goals are intended, what resources come to the table to promote those goals, and so forth. It is perhaps less well understood that the same process must be followed with the environment about one and with the energies surrounding the present moment. The nexus of each present moment for each person is the self. This is why truth is so infinitely individual and personal. One is always coming from that place [where the environment is known to one that has never been walked in before. The present moment finds each of you and each of us in a new world. Q’uo, February 15, 2004.}

No matter what the product or the means of offering it for sale, the business world has always been looked upon as a rough and tumble situation where the practices utilized to succeed may often seem ruthless and uncaring in the treatment of employees, customers, competitors and in advertising. Oftentimes every corner is cut and every advantage is taken in order to succeed. Entities operating within the business world can certainly be of service to others, depending upon their personal choices. But I think those who work within the business world are attempting to make a living by selling whatever their product or service might be. This is not necessarily a service-to-self action because their customers usually want to buy what they are selling.

Back in the 1950’s there was a television show called “Get Smart”, starring Don Adams and Barbara Feldon as secret agents in a counterintelligence agency. In one episode their mission was to infiltrate a large corporation to see if they could find out who was selling government secrets to foreign countries. Barbara Feldon’s character, who was simply called 99, asked Don Adam’s character, Maxwell Smart, if he thought that he could get a job with the large corporation and complete the mission. Max replied, “99, I have been trained as a government agent to be cold, cruel, and ruthless”, and then he added, “But not enough for business!”

Of course, one does not need to be “cold, cruel, and ruthless” to succeed in business! The spiritual seeker may find many opportunities for positive choice in such an intensely competitive world. I think it is likely the case that the more we utilize spiritual principles such as there being love in every moment, and in seeing each person we meet in the business world as the Creator, that will determine what our experience is in that environment. As a means to utilize these higher principles for the business person who has also become a spiritual seeker, Q’uo had some inspirational thoughts to share:

Those who hear these words may perhaps also take comfort in the following thought, and that is that some of you have chosen not only to experience within the incarnation to learn to grow and to serve, but also to maintain the high places within the consciousness, the watchtowers of love, which beam forth as light sources to the planet upon which you now enjoy incarnation, to the entities upon it, to the Earth itself and to those energetic vibratory levels within the Earth’s atmospheres which are in dire need of that great watch, faithfully held.

Those of you to whom these words express a recognizable duty and honor may know that whether you seem to be a businessman, a homemaker, a queen or a shepherd, there is that inner citadel, at the top of which is a watchtower, and the only lamp that is lit is the lamp lit by the deepest heart as it gazes in worship and adoration from light into light, knowing light, accepting light, blessing light and allowing the crystal of the heart of hearts to turn the self into the metaphysical lamp upon the hillside, the city upon the hill, not for the notice or understanding or thanks of mankind, but for the doing of it alone, for the keeping of the watch. In many cases this, the keeping of a faithful watch, is the primary mission or task set for the self before the incarnation. Q’uo, October 4, 1987.

This morning the entire L/L staff and a few friends as well came over to complete the setup of the tent and to get the house arranged in a manner that will allow the forty attendees for our Homecoming Gathering to be able to participate in a comfortable and efficient way for the weekend. While they were doing that work I cleaned the filters in the fish pond and discovered that the current pump for the fountain had come apart. Fortunately, I had another pump that I bought last year just in case I would ever need it. So I installed the new pump and decided that I would also fertilize the water lilies as I saw the first water lily bloom yesterday. I noticed that the four gardens that are in the most sun are in need of being watered, so when the gardens are in the shade later this evening I will use the sprinkler to get them watered.

Life Within Each Cell

I am of the principle of Jesus the Christ and I greet you in the full consciousness of love.

The answer to many riddles lies beneath the surface of stone and earth and all things which seem hard, uninteresting and mundane. The life within the stone and the earth and all things is an eternal part of the spirit of living love and exists in an eternal fashion.

The life within each cell of the physical body rests in eternal life also, so that far from being a creature of darkness, the living body dwells in eternity as it dwells within the Earth sphere.

Open the thought about the body to the knowledge that it is instinct with the Holy Spirit of the living God and call upon the eternal life and health of each cell. Then you may feel the excitement of the cells of the body receiving permission to be what each cell truly is: a perfect representation of love.

Salespeople

In most businesses it is the job of salespeople to keep the shelves stocked and point people in the right direction to find the items they are looking for. However, such things as automobiles, appliances, motorboats, and homes would each have unique features, and a prospective buyer could benefit from a basic education by a salesperson. Of course, there are many ways to sell a product—some more positive than others.

Frequently salespeople can be a little pushy as they try to sell their products to customers who are looking for such. It may also be that their sales tactics would include what may be called stretching the truth in order to make the sale. In this type of a situation customers are often at the mercy of such attempts at manipulation, and the more trusting the customer the more advantage may be taken of the customer. Often the customer can easily feel the efforts of manipulation that the salesperson is using and will reflexively back off from such attempts to make a sale. In the long run such sales tactics are very likely doomed to limited success which could well drive the salesperson deeper into this way of thinking and relating to customers. Q’uo shared some helpful thoughts regarding how this type of business person will pursue its life path in the mundane world more or less making its business its religion:

Let us observe one who has a worldly ambition. This entity perhaps begins with saving the funds from a salaried position to open the store, begin the business, buy the real estate, or in some way begin to attempt the building up of treasure, power and what may be called a mundane kingdom. This entity who is ambitious for worldly goods and power must exercise much discipline in order to achieve its goals. It must do this over a period of time, and after a period of time, if the effort has been well made, it is rewarded by worldly goods and worldly power. There are those among your peoples with just such ambition, just such goals and these entities realize not that they are as much a practicing spiritual or religious seeker as one who approaches the infinite Creator from another level, for that which an entity considers its ambitions bent toward is that which is that entity’s true spirituality or religion. Q’uo, October 30, 1988.

This is in stark contrast to the situation which arises when a customer meets a salesperson that is not manipulative. Perhaps the salesperson knows the product they are selling and is sensitive to the customer’s needs and limitations of understanding exactly what they are looking for. In this type of a sales situation the customer is able to relax into what they recognize as the good hands and intentions of the salesperson. Whether or not the purchase is made, the customer feels like they were treated fairly and they at least came away with more information about how to find their desired item to purchase. Treating people with respect, and even a little bit of love, will likely make the knowledgeable and compassionate salesperson a success both as a salesperson and as a human being moving towards the open heart and the fourth density of love and understanding. Q’uo used Carla as an example of a person who was engaged in mundane business matters, but who put her spiritual path first and then dealt with the business problem at hand:

This entity was speaking earlier of its tendency towards being critical of the self when it discovers that it is, yet again, caught in the snares of its bookkeeping software which it seems to have difficulty in learning. The entity spoke of how it had distracted itself with various amusements so that it would not begin one of the many tapes within its head that would bring it from a point of joy to a point of self-critical aggravation and even despair. Such is the nature of the human realm of perceptions that a choice of whether or not to be triggered by the seemingly negative events of the day could be more powerful in creating a positive atmosphere around this instrument than the very serious question of whether or not this instrument was able to perform its duties in an accurate and professional manner. This entity chose to walk away from the problem and to celebrate those things which it enjoyed, knowing that it would eventually move back into that atmosphere of correcting errors and creating the necessary bookkeeping tidiness that a business demands. In a sense of “this world,“ it is the books that are important. In the sense of fourth density, it is the heart remaining open, undefended, loved, forgiven and accepted that is important. It is very deceptive to attempt to work in both worlds and, as spiritual beings, we encourage each to consider what is important in the world and what is important in fourth density. This morning I began more watering of the flowers that I have transplanted for the past month. Last evening I used the sprinkler to water the areas which have been getting the most sun and were, therefore, the most in need of water. This morning I used my watering wand to water smaller gardens. Then I made an errand run to pick up two more trays of flowers which should be the last transplanting that I will do before Homecoming begins this Friday. I bought two trays of Dahlias at Paul’s Fruit Market as well as some food for me. Then I came home and transplanted half the flowers into the flower garden in the center of the Moss Garden and the other half in one of the small gardens around the Flower Fall in the front yard.

In the afternoon I sprayed all the flowers in the yard with deer and rabbit repellant composed of putrefied eggs. Then I made a repair on a part of the basement door that has rotted from one side to the other in an area of about a foot square. I sawed two pieces of quarter inch plywood a few inches larger than the rotted area and screwed one on the top and one on the bottom of the door. Eventually I will have the door replaced.

Peace, Be Still

I am the principle of infinite compassion which is the love of Jesus the Christ and I greet you in this love.

So many doubts assail your minds; so many self-destructive thoughts; so many stumbling blocks which each seeker puts in its own way through doubt. Let us speak to you of faith.

In all of the ways of existence there are those things which one may question. Yet, undergirding all that there is, is a mysterious splendor of that which was created by love.

The attitude of faith asks no words, brooks no sentiments, and discusses no implications. Faith is that abiding belief that a kindly Creator has a will for each to learn and to grow spiritually and to be of service to others.

Many situations seem quite devoid of that opportunity. Do not be fooled. When you can, show faith. When you can gaze upon the stormy waters and say, “Peace, be still,” within yourself, then you have not dogma or doctrine but a solid rock upon which to stand and the overreaching arms of the Father to protect you, comfort you, and hold you as you walk the steps of the seeker.

Q’uo suggested that each of us has planned incarnations within this third-density illusion which are full of qualities that we have chosen to help us move along our spiritual path. Q’uo suggested that we keep foremost in our minds and desires to love and serve the Creator: the Creator in the creation, in other selves, and in our self as well. In most cases we will be able to earn a sufficient amount of money to be able support ourselves at the simplest level of need.

Whatever the circumstances of our standard of living are, we have very likely chosen them before this incarnation. They will be a beginning point that will provide us a path to spiritual progress that we will very likely recognize to be of paramount importance. If we place our focus on our spiritual journeys, we will very likely also find a way to pay our bills. However, if we should ever have any doubt about how to manifest a means of earning a living that is of service to others, Q’uo suggested that we utilize meditation to find our innermost consciousness of love to provide the direction most helpful for us to travel. Meditation is a good means by which our guides, our subconscious mind, our higher self, and even the Creator can communicate thoughts, images, and words that can give the best direction in which to move and choices to make regarding how we may find work that is inspiring to us and of service to others. Most often this guidance is likely to be in congruence with our pre-incarnative choices.

The great value of groups that come together in order to serve is that they reflect two ways. They reflect out into the world, as is the conscious intention of such a group. One is able to create, as an offer to the community, projects and systematic attempts to serve that are able to be offered over a period of time with steadiness and stability. This takes a group of people out of themselves and lets them have a look at living their beliefs in such a way that they are truly of service to others.Q’uo, August 25, 2005

In this quote Q’uo is speaking of a general quality of how, when we work together in groups, that we have the opportunity of putting our basic beliefs of how to be of service to others into a means of living our beliefs. Each within the group contributes ideas and energy as to how we can be of service more effectively. This is a far more spiritually-oriented means of working that puts our core beliefs into action in a steady and stable way that serves others most effectively. It is a way of life and work that does not seek financial gain as the main reason for our work. Such financial gain may, indeed, also be realized, but it is more of a side effect of our work efforts that seek most purely to offer assistance to any who we may encounter in our chosen line of work.

In this quote Q’uo shared the overview of how our right livelihood of earning a living is undergoing a change of purification at this time:

You ask this day what is the proper attitude to take in discovering your “right livelihood,” as you call it, the means by which you offer your services to others in the manner in which you receive recompense for such. This is a question which is well worth consideration, especially in the times in which you now exist, for they are gradually, at the moment, changing into that which is of a more harmonious nature from that which has been based upon the exchange of monetary emolument, realizing no innate justifiable purpose for codifying and mystifying the nature of value. For those who would seek their own ends in a selfish manner have made that which you call your “monetary system” their method of manipulation. This is, shall we say, the old way, which has long existed upon your planet and in which all entities, both those positively oriented and those negatively oriented, have found themselves dealing with for the length of their incarnations. It is a kind of attitude which sees people as commodities and things to be used, to be valued in the using, without concern for the heart of being that beats within each, and has the potential of realizing so very much more in the simple accomplishment of a task and reward as if it were a carrot and a stick.

You seek this day and all days from now on, and have for some time, the means by which you may realize a more harmonious manner of choosing how you shall expend your energies, and for what reason you shall act in that manner, for you are all conscious seekers of truth. You are all those that have become aware that the universe in which you live is not made up of separation and individuals that have no relationship to each other, other than the monetary exchange between them. You realize that the One Creator exists in all entities and all things, and you wish to honor and glorify that One Creator in every instance in which you partake. Thus is the rightness of your livelihood defined: that which honors the Creator of all and seeks the Creator of all and reflects the Creator of all. Thus, my friends, as you ponder with your heart, with your mind, with your emotions, and with what you may call your intuition, how to proceed upon this new path of right livelihood, we would suggest that you utilize all of these assets that are yours in order to give yourself a rounded picture, shall we say, of possibilities. This morning I went outside and completed the transplanting of flowers within the flower garden in the center of the Moss Garden and also in the gardens along the parking area in the front of the house. It looks like there are just two more areas in the yard that will need some additional flowers. Then I used my large mower to cut the grass.

This afternoon I went outside and used my trimmer to trim all around the yard where the mower could not go. This is the longest and hardest work of cutting grass as what is actually happening is that I am outlining each garden, tree, bush, and walkway with my trimmer. After the trimming was complete I used my backpack blower to blow all of the walkways clean.

The Touch Of The Spirit

I am of the spirit of Jesus the Christ and I greet you in the consciousness of love.

We find this instrument contemplating the lightness of our touch upon its consciousness. Would this instrument wish the Holy Spirit to come upon it in such power that it were struck blind? There are times when the spirit must come upon one or many in the boldest strokes of light and thunder. Yet far more often is the spirit’s influence felt in the light movements of the wind of love’s consciousness upon the texture and fabric of your illusion.

Yet if it is desired that greater light in greater strength strike the life, the pilgrim may seek to condemn, vilify and persecute those things which it does not understand. Then the spirit, soft and sweet, becomes dire and terrible and light becomes awesome.

May your ways be unbound by judgment and may the spirit touch you in peace, now and always. Amen.

Service-to-self aspect of earning a living

When you first think of the topic of the service-to-self aspect of earning a living, you might assume that now we will be talking about how the negatively-oriented person is successful at accumulating great amounts of money and power. However, I believe that such a recounting of how the concepts of separation from and control over others in order to gain money and power are not as interesting or helpful to the spiritual growth of positive seekers of truth as would be an analysis of how each of us will be gaining some rewards for ourselves as we seek to be of service to others. This gain is not what we really are looking for, by the way. It just comes to us because we are all one being—those who serve others and those who are served–and this is the way it works as Ra states in the following quote:

 However, service to others results in service to self, thus preserving and further harmonizing the distortions of those entities seeking intelligent infinity through these disciplines. Ra, 7.15

I am assuming that most people who work to earn a living are hoping to be of service to others because this meets a basic human desire to be helpful. As we were raised as children most of us were helped by others on every step of our growing up from parents, to teachers, to neighbors, to friends, and even to strangers who might have retrieved our hat when the wind blew it off of our heads. I believe that people are intrinsically loving and good, and this basic level of compassion becomes a part of the personality shell of most people.

So when we look at Ra’s quote, this basic level of goodness that I believe exists in most people seems to have its origins in the nature of how the creation works. If we are working to earn a living and seek in some measure to be of service to others, we will not only earn a paycheck that we can use to pay our bills, but in the metaphysical sense there is a kind of gift from the creation/Creator that recognizes that we are all one being. So, when we serve another entity, we are also serving ourselves. In a creation of unity, we are all each other’s other selves. Q’uo had some very inspiring and paradoxical thoughts to share on this topic of how we benefit from serving others:

We ask you now to consider the many times each of you has indeed sacrificed the self seemingly as servant of another when that other was in need. Remember doing all that you could and more, and feel again the peace that comes from knowing that you have done all that you can and that you shall continue and the joy that comes when in any small thing another self turns to you and says, “Truly I have asked you and truly you have served.” And so the fruits of service to others, though challenging to accomplish, are joy and peace that no man can take from you lest you take them from yourself, for you only can undo the work that you have done within yourself. We would admonish you not to judge yourself when you have served to the best of your ability. If you feel you could have done better, remember then, you have done all that you can and be again at peace and allow joy to enter your being.

Spiritual peace is a terrible thing in the parlance of what you might call your culture, the ethos into which you were born, for it is a peace that comes from having exhausted oneself in an effort to serve others and setting again one’s foot on the path, looking again for the next opportunity to serve, wherever it may be. Thus, one is at peace without having a spiritual contentment, shall we say, for you do not have a spiritual resting place in the sense that your body has a domicile. You are on a path. That path will continue and you will be where you were not and you will never be where you are now again. This is not so of those who do not attempt to become servants of others. The inner life for those who sleep is as stable as the outer, and a peace bound up in quiet dreaming is most glamorous and may take up an entire incarnation with no problem whatsoever for those who have not yet found the spark that sets them upon the path.

Spiritual joy can be a frightening thing, for it is a joy which has its roots in a love that is mysterious, for it is the manifestation of a sense of the Creator which is mysterious. You may experience joy, but it is an unknown joy, an unspeakable joy, a happiness which is both silent and creative. In this regard we encourage you to remember that anything at which you look is not only the Creator but is also less than the Creator.

We are fond of paradoxes, are we not? Let us clarify. The Creator is not only each tree, each stone, each bird, and each conscious entity. It is also the mystery that created these things. It is the invisible, the infinite. Why does it say in your holy works that the trees clap their hands and the mountains dance like rams? Does the Creator play so? You may look at it that way, but it is also possible to recognize the signs of worship and praise of a Creator that infuses all with love and joy.

My friends, you are far more complex than trees and hills, and within yourselves you have many, many beings interpenetrating each other, communicating with each other, and forming one whole and conscious hologram of the Creator. And yet there is also that mystery which you seek that is beyond and within your consciousness. As you approach what you call your Independence Day, we ask you to gaze many times at the concept of freedom, for there are many metaphysical systems which indulge in a hedonism that suggests that the Creator shall be used as a panacea to achieve happiness, prosperity, health and all manner of positive and comfortable things. We suggest to you that true happiness is often quite uncomfortable and yet so exhilarating that once having been experienced, it shall be the way you seek to manifest love.

Love one another, my friends. Serve one another. And find your freedom, your joy, and your peace. Q’uo, June 29, 1986.

This morning I took Mr. Mush to the vet because yesterday afternoon I noticed that he could not use his back legs to walk. He had to pull himself along the floor with his front legs. I called the emergency number for my vet, and she said I should bring him in the first thing this morning. After doing some tests on his back legs this morning my vet said that Mr. Mush probably had suffered a stroke. So I decided that it was best for Mr. Mush that he be euthanized and not have to try to live such a difficult life. When I got home I cleaned Mr. Mush’s body with a brush and wrapped him in one of Dana’s blue towels. I took him to the pet cemetery where I had dug a grave and laid his body in the grave. I used a pet burial ceremony that Carla created many years ago and read it aloud. Then I covered his body with dirt and put a large flat stone on top of his grave. I put a smaller, chunkier stone on top of the flat stone and used a clear caulking compound to affix MR. MUSH to the smaller stone. Then I put more clear caulking compound on top of his name so that it can be clearly read for the foreseeable future. I am sure that he is with Dana once again and that they both are very glad to see each other.

The City Of God

We are of the principle of the living Christ and we greet you in the full consciousness of love.

For many days the instrument has felt beleaguered and puzzled. And so we turn the mind of the instrument to patience and waiting. There are times during the life experience—and it is designed in just this way—when the overwhelming nature of experience is such that the conscious mind is pulled away from that great, slow rhythm of the consciousness of love. The mind, then, is receptive not to the city of God but to the city of man.

Yet that high and holy hill exists in the world as well as outside of it. And it is in quietness and peace of mind that this kingdom is to be seen. Yet also is it to be seen in the beauty that informs each and every work of God and of man. The city of God, that glad place where man may tabernacle with his Creator, lies within as well as in the world to come.

May each who frets and worries sink into quietness and peace of mind, thus to discover the Holy City and God’s will.

In regards to money, Q’uo said:

“You ask us about the companionship of money and spirituality. It is written in one of your holy works that the love of money is the root of all evil. We would like to point out that it is the love of money, as it is any idolatry, which is at the root of separation, whether it be the separation of true worship of the great divine mystery because of pieces of wood and stone or the separation of one’s focus from that same mystery because of the love of counting. It is not the money itself which is contrary to a life led with a spiritual center, but the idolatrous love of that which is builded by man in imitation of the Creator’s abundance. Q’uo, December 20, 1986

Q’uo gave an overview of the concept of money by emphasizing that it is the love of money—and not money itself—that can become a stumbling block for us in our work environment and in pursuing our spiritual journeys. Q’uo suggested that if we wish to seek true abundance in our lives, that may be found in appreciating the Creator’s universe in which we live and move and have our being. If we must face the reality of earning money to pay for our needs, then we can thank the Creator for giving us the chance for being in this world, learning the lessons of love of the Creator, and opening our hearts in unconditional love for those around us.

This focus upon the love of the Creator and Its creation gives us a path out of the temptations of our culture to glory in the hoarding of money as if we were trying to win a game of Monopoly. We may be forced to play the money game, but we do not need to be attached to money as a direct source of happiness.

It has been said, “To work is to pray,” and for those lucky enough, shall we say, to have found occupations which enable them to supply themselves with the necessities of survival which also feed the spirit, this is in the deepest sense true. You may find these people working with their hands to make beauty, working with their minds as channels of various forms of love, working among people in such a way that their very being is of service in a substantial manner. But for so many, my friends, the connection between the daily life and love, between action and meditation, is not apparent. And in order for you to become able to link in any way the work of empty form which you find yourselves performing and the work which is love, it is recommended that you begin with the meditation rather than with the work. Hatonn, February 4, 1982

Hatonn said that the ideal situation for whatever our occupation might be is to be able to support ourselves in a way that also is in harmony with our spiritual journeys. If we should be that fortunate, we will be in a situation where our work is literally and metaphysically a prayer of service and thanksgiving to the Creator. In such an ideal situation we will commune daily with love, beauty, purpose, and inspiration.

However, Hatonn recognized that this ideal work situation is not a reality for many people. Instead, “the work of empty form” is all too often the situation that many people find themselves in. So many people have jobs that they don’t like but continue to pursue them because it seems like their only choice. They feel stuck, unhappy, and unable to find a way to feel like they are really being of service to others in a meaningful way. Hatonn’s recommended solution was to engage in meditation, and perhaps contemplation and prayer as well, to ask within as to how to find an occupation that would be more aligned with one’s values and personal inspiration and satisfaction. Then it might also be helpful to release all worry about what the answer will be or when it will come and simply have faith that all is well and that the appropriate work will be made known to us at the right time. I would imagine that most conscious seekers of truth have created pre-incarnative choices that are meant to provide the highest and best path to take.

This entity, because of his attitude of service to others and his determination to make a difference with his open heart and his loving energy, has fulfilled the requirement of right livelihood, which is to serve the one infinite Creator with, as this instrument would say, singleness of heart. The purity of desire to serve is powerful in metaphysical terms and once this determination to serve the infinite Creator in all that is seen and in all that is sought and in all that is beheld is adopted, the service is established in a way that shall never be true within third density alone. . . Thoughts are the objects of that realm which is entered in what those of Ra would call “time/space,” or the metaphysical or inner realms of existence. Within those realms, we do not believe, my brother, that there is anything which you can do to earn money which would not be considered a right livelihood in terms of your intention to serve the one infinite Creator. Q’uo suggested that it is our desire to be of service to others that is the most important ingredient in any work that we do. It is our intention to be of service to others and the one Creator which creates our right livelihood. In this quote Q’uo described right livelihood in slightly different terms:

We would turn now to the question of how best to manifest and express the joy, the peace, and the love of consciousness which is held within what you would call the Kingdom of Heaven. How can one best share with others? How can one find what this instrument has called right livelihood? We wish that we could move within the experiential nexus of your culture and find some persuasive way to express the extreme biases and distortions among your peoples concerning those ways of living which are of most service.

Perhaps the key to what we would say concerning service and livelihood that is what you may call righteous is this. The consciousness of the Creator, unique parts of which manifest as yourselves in a highly distorted form, is completely unified. You may love one and serve one, and give as clearly and beautifully and fully as the entity who shares that same light and love and passion for light and love with ten million. The service is the same, for the service is in the preparation of consciousness that it may do the work before it in such a way that that work becomes positively polarized, serving in gladness, so that those about one who are serving in any capacity whatsoever may witness the light, the joy, and the peace which cannot come from one within an illusion in which so much is distressing. That which you call human faculties fail. The love of the one infinite Creator is infinite. Q’uo, March 13, 1988.

Our pure will to serve others transmutes our space/time effort into the level of time/space, or the world of spirit, so that we are continually serving the one Creator when we do our work with love for all. Thusly do we become Players on the Enhanced Gameboard of life whether we are utilizing our right livelihood with only one person or with ten million.

This morning I went outside and transplanted the three trays of Fuchsia on the Wuthering Heights Mound in the front yard where some of the Dianthus blooms seem to have quit blooming. Then I weeded the perennial Hibiscus garden. My last job of the morning was to prune back the pink-bloom Dogwood between the fish pond and the pet cemetery as it, like many trees and bushes, in our area has partially died back in the upper branches but shows good leafing in the lower branches.

This afternoon I went back to Paul’s Fruit Market and bought two more flats of the fushia that I transplanted this morning and finished the transplanting of the Wuthering heights Mound. Then I weeded the Moss Garden with my trimmer. My last job was to spray all of the transplanted flowers with deer and rabbit repellent made from putrefied eggs, and then went inside to take a bath since I am sure I got some of that stink on myself as well.

I want to mention that another one of Dana’s cats, Mr. Mush, has cancer and is losing weight and may not be long for this world. He is 20 years old and is a very sweet cat. I am giving him mirtazapine to enhance his appetite, subcutaneous fluids every other day to prevent him becoming dehydrated, and pain medication to deal with the pain of the cancer in his mouth. A friend of mine is also doing Reiki healing from a distance.

Burdens Laid Down In Faith

I am of the principle of the love of Jesus the Christ and I greet you in the full consciousness of that divine love.

The instrument experiences much confusion at this time and we find it very difficult to channel through her. The Holy Spirit, with its fiery strength, is perhaps for many a dim voice, heard with confused ears. We come in the name of love and yet love itself is not a plunderer. Rather, we await the opening of the door of confusion and the removal of inner tension.

There is, in those who are confused, a feeling that all things must be held together by the self. Yet we say to you that there is no swifter road for the spirit to enter than that road made by the faithful seeker who lays down control of a difficult situation and says with a whole heart, “Not my will, but Thine.” Then it is that we who are single as a flame and yet several and multiple as many tongues of fire may come in and lighten the darkness of confusion with love. May burdens be laid down in faith by many this day.

We leave this instrument in the hope of peace, now and ever. Amen.

I did the Morning Offering and then got myself ready for the day. Today the 102 quote comes from Chapter Four and the concept of service to country, armed forces, peace corps, etc.:

Ra suggested that members of the armed service, even in wartime, could polarize positively in certain circumstances:

One may find oneself in the situation of war and polarize somewhat towards the positive, activating orange, yellow, and then green by heroic, if you may call them this, actions taken to preserve the mind/body/spirit complexes of other-selves.

Finally, one may polarize very strongly fourth ray by expressing the principle of universal love at the total expense of any distortion towards involvement in bellicose actions. In this way the entity may become a conscious being in a very brief span of your time/space. This may be seen to be what you would call a traumatic progression. It is to be noted that among your entities a large percentage of all progression has, as catalyst, trauma.[1]

I am guessing that the “heroic actions” that would aid a soldier in activating the green ray could be, for example, jumping on a grenade to keep fellow soldiers alive. Ra also said that a person might “polarize very strongly fourth ray by expressing the principle of universal love at the total expense of any distortion towards involvement in bellicose actions.” I am guessing that this would entail refusing to join the military in times of people being drafted into the military due to the need for soldiers to fight in an existing war such as during the Viet Nam War. Becoming a conscientious objector would necessitate a great deal of exercising the higher ideals of seeing all bellicose actions as being of a negative polarity and seeing all people as worthy of love and respect. This would make such a person a conscious seeker of truth in the positive sense who would be living the Law of One.

 However, for those who are not in the military, there may arise other opportunities to refrain from “warlike” attitudes and behaviors, and this, too, can reflect positive choices. Turning the other cheek, or not fighting back when physically or verbally attacked by another person would be a very heroic thing for a Player to do. Then that same Player could engage their would-be attacker in a conversation that might find the root of the animosity between them and seek to clarify and harmonize this relationship. Q’uo offered some inspiring advice as to how this type of harmonizing of our relationships with others could occur:

And we say to each who may wish to walk with others in the service of the one infinite Creator, love each other unconditionally; bide your words, bate your tongue, hold and release your judgments. Is not each attempting the very most it can attempt already? Have you not faith in each other to this extent, that you have faith each is attempting the impossible? You know it is impossible to act ideally in this illusion. The illusion is what you see. The illusion is what will form your actions, and they will be relative, not absolute. Again and again you yourselves shall perceive yourselves in error. Is it so strange you should perceive error in others also? But if you wish to work for love, if you wish to serve in love and light, love each other, care for each other, be for each other, advocate each other, burn with love and passion for the portion of each that wishes to serve. Is this not beautiful? Is this not beyond the understanding? Q’uo, April 29, 1990.

Many people, both men and women, learn skills in the military that allow them to have a career after their term in the military is concluded such as in flying planes, communication, construction of roads, dams, housing, etc. The experience and talents that they gained while in the military give them a means by which to be of greater service to others for the rest of their lives after their time in the military is complete. The military can actually be looked at as another form of education similar to going to college but without having to wait until your junior year to declare your major. The military focuses upon teaching certain skills from the beginning of joining whatever branch of the military one may decide to join.

As far as Peace Corps, and similar groups are concerned, many opportunities are offered for positive service to others. For example, the Teacher Corps, of which I was a member in the early ’70s, worked in the inner-city schools of this country in order to help kids there get better educations, as they were located in low-income areas that frequently did not have sufficient funds to afford up-to-date schools, classrooms, supplies, or salaries for teachers. This was perhaps a more obvious avenue for green-ray love than some other government jobs, especially given its collaborative nature working with input from local universities.

I think that service to one’s country and its people was exemplified in a most powerful, unexpected, and inspiring way by Muhammad Ali. He was an Olympic gold medal winner and a three-time heavyweight boxing champion of the world who used his fame and his talents as means by which to set an example later in his life as to how people could use their own talents to be of service to others.  These are the six core principles by which Muhammad Ali lived which are taken from a film by Ken Burns, Sara Burns, and David McMahan:

There have been very few people in the world who have successfully been able to transcend their career or profession to become a symbol of larger, societal issues. As an athlete, Muhammad Ali was a three-time world heavyweight boxing champion and an Olympic gold medalist. He devoted himself to humanitarian work during his boxing career, and dedicated himself full-time to this life work since retiring from the ring. Ali always said that boxing was merely the vehicle that gave him the means to help others. His athletic achievements provided Ali with a platform to be heard, and he truly believed that he was put on this earth exactly for that reason—to use this unique gift to positively benefit humanity, one person at a time. Ali traveled the world on missions related to peace, building mutual respect, and healing. He was a United Nations Messenger of Peace and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He was a man who believed that the greatest possibilities for global peace and unity begin with individual transformation. Muhammad Ali’s life embodied his principles and ideals. They guided him through the hard work necessary to be the best athlete he could be, and they gave him the strength and courage throughout his life to stand up for what he believed. It is Ali’s six core principles of confidence, conviction, dedication, respect, giving, and spirituality that inspired his work and that are embedded in the mission and goals of the Muhammad Ali Center in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. The Muhammad Ali Center’s mission focuses on preserving and promoting Muhammad Ali’s legacy, sharing his SIX CORE PRINCIPLES, and being a repository of inspiration and guidance for all.

1 Confidence: belief in oneself, one’s abilities, and one’s future. Ali had the confidence and drive it took to become an Olympian and a world heavyweight champion. He possessed a “deep well” of belief in himself that gave him a second and third world heavyweight championship title. He lifted up people of color in the U.S. and around the world by announcing, “I’m so pretty” and “I’m The Greatest

 2 Conviction: a firm belief that gives one the courage to stand behind that belief, despite pressure to do otherwise. Ali found the courage and commitment to become a conscientious objector—standing up for his beliefs, no matter what the consequences: “The real enemy of my people is right here. I will not disgrace my religion, my people or myself by becoming a tool to enslave those who are fighting for their own justice, freedom, and equality.”

3 Dedication: the act of devoting all of one’s energy, effort, and abilities to a certain task. From an early age, Ali found the physical endurance and discipline to become a world champion: roadwork, gym work, sparring, diet, positive mindset, and putting his dreams first.

4 Respect: esteem for, or a sense of the worth or excellence of, oneself and others. Ali’s life path led him to respecting self and others, his purpose and God. He recognized that attaining these ideals was individual, communal, and universal.

5 Giving: to present voluntarily without expecting something in return. Ali traveled the world to learn about its people and to offer assistance wherever he could. Even as a world champion, he did not see himself as different from others: “I’ll still walk in the ghettos, answer questions, and kiss babies. I’ll never forget my people.” Spirituality: a sense of awe, reverence, and inner peace inspired by a connection to all of creation and/or that which is greater than oneself. Ali believed that the world’s spiritual traditions have in common many heart-centered human values: love, hope, charity, justice, and peace. He worked across religious traditions to advance the dignity of all humanity and was grounded in his faith, yet acknowledged a higher power that connected us: “Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams—they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do—they all contain truths.”

Today, our city, country, and world are ripe for individuals making and being a positive difference. We can all become leaders in our communities by sharing an undeniable drive to achieve our individual and collective dreams, and by using the irrefutable characteristics that we all possess in order to be successful. The attainment of these dreams takes dedication, commitment, self-discipline, courage, and a strong moral centering. “It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.” —MUHAMMAD ALI “I am an ordinary man who worked hard to develop the talent I was given. 

This morning we got an inch and a half of rain that was such a blessing as it will probably keep my gardens watered well into our Homecoming Gathering weekend that starts next Friday. After the rain stopped I went outside and cut some honeysuckle bushes out of the forsythia bushes in Dana’s Crystal Corner area.

This afternoon I went over to southern Indiana and visited my friend who has been in a care home there for the last four years due to two strokes that she suffered in 2018. Since then she has been paralyzed on the right side of her body, but today she showed me that now she can lift her right leg from the wheelchair and then put it back down. That was such a beautiful sight to see. Then I showed her some pictures of the flower gardens in my yard, and I read to her from Carla’s A Wanderer’s Handbook. We always end my visits with a meditation.

Sins Flee Before Love

I am of the spirit of the full consciousness of love and I greet you in the name of Jesus the Christ.

This instrument has little awareness of true holiness this morning. This is the state of almost every spirit who dwells within the earthly bonds of flesh. It was some time before we were even able to make ourselves known to the instrument and this is an instrument trained to recognize coherent spiritual vibration.

The reason for this is the in-turning of the eye of spirit upon the self in order to bemoan what the spirit feels is sinful or full of error. When each spirit causes the flow of generous love to turn in upon itself in judgment of the self, the flow of love is forced to a standstill within the judgmental spirit.

It is true that there is no earthly body which is not a creature of flesh. And it is further true that many are the follies of flesh and countless their encumbrances. However, to unstop the flow of love it is well simply to release each sin perceived and turn with a glad and simple heart towards the direction of the full consciousness of love. For love does not come into the sinful being but, rather, sins flee before the full consciousness of love.

Do not attempt to groom the self to be ready to receive the spirit of Christ but, rather, open to the spirit of Christ in the knowledge that every strength will be given by that spirit for all errors to be removed in due time.

We leave you in the peace of the positive and radiating love of Christ, now and ever. Amen.
