Anthropology and the Law of One

I would like to explore some anthropology concepts, and how they relate to the Law of One.

I don't have reference links for the anthropology material. But I don't think matters much, because my goal is to explore how these ideas might shine a new light on the Law of One. I invite you to join me in this exploration.

Some anthropologists believe that humanity, as we now experience our physical bodies, evolved in groups, tribes or clans of about a hundred individuals. These tribes traveled together, hunting and gathering. About a third of the individuals would have been infants and children young enough to need at least some watchfulness from the adults. When a smaller group went out for the hunt, there were still many different adults who could watch the kids together.

This means that what is normal for a human being is to grow up with several other kids of all ages, watched over by a group of caring adults. Not every adult would be perfectly attentive and caring at all times, of course. However, chances are excellent that most of the time, if there was a dangerous situation, or the kid called out for help or needed something, there would be a good-enough response, soon enough. As a result of growing up this way, the kids would have the fundamental emotional security to expect that they are good enough people, and able to handle a world where there is enough caring and resources to meet their needs.

I believe that this is a natural development from the Law of One perspective. From unity with our fellow souls, we would have then emerged into unity with our fellow incarnate humans. The shocks of this 3D world would have been much easier to adapt to.

With the agricultural revolution, tribes expanded to cities, and priests who understood the astronomical signs of the flood seasons could consolidate their political control. Perhaps this is part of what Ra referred to as mistaken interference in human history.

Yet still, most people would have grown up in some kind of extended family or community situation with a variety of other kids and mostly caring adults.

From this perspective, the industrial revolution was a disastrous change for the worse in human development. Yes, workers got to migrate closer to good-paying work opportunities. But the destruction of the extended family meant that far fewer people had their early years surrounded by caring relatives who offered "good enough" help and love and encouragement. If just one couple - or more likely, just one mother - doesn't have their act together, the physical and psychological consequences can be devastating to the child, who doesn't have anyone else to ask for help.

I think this is why there has been, in recent centuries, so much more indigestible catalyst leading to neuroses and other intrapersonal and interpersonal problems. This could have been part of what Ra discussed as the increasing intensity of catalyst that has dramatically shortened lifespans.

Do you think I might be on track with these explorations? Or is there a more productive different way to look at these matters? Are there specific passage of the LLR material that address these issues?

May each wanderer find comfort in the knowledge that it cannot help contributing positively to the planetary vibration. Even with what seems to be gross mismanagement of time and energy, yet still in that very basic alienated mindset there dwells that vibration which is fuller with light. This very alienation is simply a surface symptom of a deep and spiritual gift. Comfort yourself when the heart is heavy and the feelings bruised with the knowledge that you are being of service. You are doing that which you came to do. You may find ways to do it better, but you are not failing no matter what it seems like.

If I would ask my Puerto Rican friend what his favorite dish--of all time--was, he would answer: whole roasted pig, a specialty of theirs.

I would then ask: Are you sure? Is that truly your CHOICE?

He would then, without hesitation, affirm his position.

But if I would ask my Saudi friend, what his favorite dish was--he may answer: roasted camel.

Is that truly his CHOICE? Why not roasted pig? That stuff is really good, I've tried it!

Okay perhaps I could express my point better with movies. My Indian friend's favorite movie actor: this BollyWood Superstar I've never heard of. My sister's favorite movie actor: Johnny Depp. And then maybe a year from now, I will find myself in the middle of the Panamanian jungle, visiting an isolated tribe and then asking one of them: By the way, who is your favorite movie actor? Oh, and do you like roasted camel?

His answer may be: What's a movie actor? What's a camel?

Why can't he make that choice?

So what is choice when the great majority of choices you are allowed to make are predetermined by opportunities beyond your control?

If the argument is that these very opportunities that are dictated by birth, then is choice then a pre-incarnative event?

If our higher selves have chosen these catalysts we encounter (in this life) and from these relatively limited opportunities (also pre-chosen), we make choices (in this life) based on our biases--biases that are an extrapolation of the sum of our experiences from previous also pre-chosen lives with pre-chosen opportunities, loaded with biases based on pre-choices and so on.

In this life, what is choice then?

I've been reading about the importance of meditation from the Hatonn materials, and through the Law of One. I have read all of the Ra Material, and several of Carla's books, but am always learning.

I have had this question that has been eating at me though. I am wanting to polarize as strongly as possible to service to others while still being able to integrate what I am learning.

However, in the time I am meditating, I am working on myself, opening my chakras, and letting the energy flow through me. Since this is myself, is meditation in this sense service-to-self?

I recently responded poorly to a situation that I interpret as psychic greeting.

The bizarre, hostile, and nonresponsive nature of the message was just the way that some other people had behaved in my past, before they turned violent or abusive.

My responses of fear, anger, defensiveness, and a desire to protect myself and other potential victims drove a compulsive sense of urgency to show up the "greeter"... even though the nature of the "greeting" was already self-evident, and nobody else was really in danger.

A portion of my response was informed by the Law of One perspective I've been learning here, and the part of my spirit that resonated with that perspective in the first place. Another portion of my response projected my hurts of the past into the present, making a mixed-message mess.

Without responding to the specific incident if you saw it, since I've been told that it's best to leave the specifics to those who are equipped to deal with the situation... I wonder if there are ways anyone can suggest to defuse the emotional "hook" of the situation, to escape the trance of negative and regain a peaceful awareness of the moment's opportunities for love.

I am working through the underlying issues from a psychological point of view with a compassionate, skillful counselor who's mostly Buddhist in outlook. My question here is what Law of One material might particularly apply in using wisdom and discernment, when offered an emotionally intense opportunity to join in a negatively polarized situation.

P.S. My response in the situation may have offended or reflected poorly on people of goodwill. I deeply apologize if that's what happened.

PPS I'll read and respond here tomorrow, my Internet connection is currently up and down intermittently.

All my life I've usually been mostly to the positive I think... I never really did much good in the 19 years but always no matter what, everyday would be thoughts of wanting to help people. Thoughts of positivity and realms where people live in peace. No matter what it was always day in and day out thoughts of some kind of seeking and helping. If I can sum it up from the LOO when Ra says a complex has something in their potentiation, I guess the positive path for me is in potentiation.

Anyways today I came home from school, it was a good day and I've got back some really high test scores for my winter semester classes. I had the TV on in the background and the movie on was kinda negative. But I was browsing these forums and wasn't watching it, but was reading Fairyfarmgirl's wanderer story.

Before I knew it I had this head ache all around the sides and back of my head and a feeling of just utter want to domination disgust and anger for people and positivity.. I tried so hard to think good thoughts, everytime I thought a good thought it would null the feeling but almost suddenly it would return and continue. This feeling came first and the negative thoughts came after. I really at that point was hating on everything and everytime a thought of control and anger popped in my head the feeling would intensify into desire.. the headache at this point was all around the head but focused between the brows at the temple the most.



1-2 hours into that came some form of huge fatigue and fell asleep where I was slumped over with no pillow. I wasn't previously tired.

Now I woke up and the feeling is gone! so I wrote this thread. I would never want to repeat that experience again.

Anyone ever had this happen?

3 days ago, a poster on ATS opened a thread pertaining to the Harvest and Law of One; whilst certainly not of the quality of H_H or the other alleged Family Member his message is very positive. He does not claim membership of any group. He spent much time answering the many mostly intelligent questions posed. Although very true to the LOO at most times he does slip up on a few occasions - there again there will always be distortions when one single person offers his view as to what me be behind the veil. Never the less I found it a good read and am of the opinion that the LOO has gained an even wider audience because of this discussion.
