The purpose of this thread to discuss the nature of distortion. The following is simply my opinion and even I do not hold a particular amount of stock in it, I am very open to discussion of this topic.

Distortion, as I “understand” it, is a change/displacement/transmutation of a relevant point/property/principle. Everything is a distortion of every other thing. In the context of “all is one” many view distortion as the displacement from unity or the “original” which I agree with, but there are other ways of understanding this fundamental phenomenon.

Distortion is basically the increase/decrease in complexity of a process. An alteration of the original "blueprint" if you will. The activation of possibility that lies within the parameters of potential. In another sense can be seen as randomness within an otherwise uniform structure, properties outside a certain threshold of commonality from the relative point/property/principle structure can be easily identified as "distortion" eg. cancer in the bodily complex (the body being the relative principle structure, cancer being the distortion).

If I was to take a block of wood and cut it in half, the now current two pieces could be named a distortion of the previous form and to put them back together would be the removal of this distortion (from the relevant property).

However this being dualistic means that approaching this from an absolute value perspective is helpful.
Say you had an object that was 7 units of distortion away from "unity" if it gained 3 distortion units you may think it's more distorted but if it lost 4 distortion units it would be distorted more from it's position at 7 than the other example, yet closer to "unity", discernment plays a big role here.

What I am trying to suggest here is the relevance of principle when attempting to identify distortion. The block in itself is a distorted form, as are all things that exist, it would just be "less distorted" from the view of displacement from the original. Infinity implies not only that are no limits but also that there is every limit possible in potential. The potential for all distortion possible exists in potential.

Ra responds by saying that about 200 years ago, the law of seniority was starting to take effect (those who have a higher chance of making the harvest grade were given priority in incarnating, in the hopes that 4 or 5 lifetimes before the Harvest point would give them enough experience to harvest).

So a little thought just occurred to me. The purpose of our experience is to balance the lessons of time in space. So when we are in a 3d m/b/s complex in space/time we carry the potential of all our time we have accrued. The trick is balancing all prior or future experience with the current experience.

Veiling causes the need for greater balancing, although I haven't wrapped my head around this part much yet.

I know this may not be new to anyone but for some reason that particular way of looking at it lit a light in my head.

catalyst is that thing which is recognised by the self as being the trigger or lever for change that will lead to unblocking.

so in all respects, catalyst is a force for greater balance. So that being the case, why does Ra mention on many occassions that this planet has lots of unused catalyst? what is it about our society that leads to an avoidance of catalyst?

I can think of a few (from my own life).

* we don't acknowledge the catalyst (a case of denial. It is like having kitchen waste in the bin, and it gets smellier and smellier, and yet we refuse to acknowledge there is a problem, becuz if we did, we would have to do something about it (ie stop being lazy and do something different than what we are currently doing) ).

* we acknowledge the catalyst, but don't want to talk about it (talking about one's emotions, feelings and current state allows others to offer their viewpoints and perspective, and is in a way, a 'calling' for assistance to help resolve the situation. When we bottle it up inside, we are not allowing for the full opportunity to resolve the catalyst. Talking about it (with friends, with people on these forums) enables a greater 'light' to be shone on the catalyst, and then its subsequent resolution).

* we acknowledge the catalyst, but its too painful, and don't want to deal with it (this is the approach of distraction and sleep. I had a friend's father who was a heavy drinker over many many years becuz they had an underlying depression issue. Instead of facing the catalyst of depression, they 'dulled' it out of existence by getting drunk-faced every opportunity they could while still maintaining the apperance of a job and a family. But using drugs in this way (this particular way) with things like alchohol and in the old days, opium, is a way of not thinking about the catalyst, ie not dealing with it essentially).

* we 'project' the catalyst onto someone else (in this case, we don't even really acknowledge, own, or realise that the catalyst is 'ours'. We hold onto the belief that the catalyst is someone else being lazy, someone else being distorted, or someone else being a troublemaker. It's all 'them' and not in any way related to us. This is a mental mis-identificaiton with the catalyst, and as such, it cannot be used or processed by the self until this is seen to be the case).

anyway, learning to view and accept all the catalyst that is present in my life has enabled a greater use of it (more efficient processing) and as such, I believe, can accelerate one's progress ... if that is what one wishes for.

Indeed, on some third-density planetary spheres catalyst has been used more efficiently. In the case of your planetary sphere there is much inefficient use of catalyst and, therefore, much physical distortion.
